In the event of a broken promise we forget the comfort it once gave us, The way we once repeated it to ourselves when things got to tough to handle on our own, The simplistic reasurance those words emited.
In a life full of broken promises, we lose hope in our fellow man. essentialy we begin to doubt ourselves, Then as our self love ebbs away we lose faith in humanity as a whole. The safe haven we created in our mind, the one that holds the promiser in a web of duty, says that they are immune to human error. And it is time we look at our selves and wonder if we are, for even we have broken vows. |
