Where do we find Wisdom and Inspiration? Is it in our brain? Is it in the influence of other on us? Are we taught it? Is it something we learn or is it pure nature to us? I once read somewhere that Wisdom is the sharing of wise experiences and knowledge, but a lot of it is common sense. The difference is how we apply this common sense - we all have the ability to keep going even when we face challenges in our lives - basically it comes down to your attitude. We can have a positive attitude towards life, or a negative attitude. We can focus on the good or we can focus on the bad. Keeping a positive mental attitude is one of the keys to success. The choice is always up to us!
Does it all come down to our attitude? Can we succeed in whatever we want if we simply adjust our attitude? It just seems too simple doesn’t it? Well not for me. For me, adjusting my attitude has got to be one of life’s hardest challenges. When you are mind-set into thinking that you cannot do it, or think you are not smart enough to accomplish what you want, it becomes true to you. I am currently in the hard place of trying to adjust my attitude from “but this, but that” to “I can do this” and “I am doing this for myself because I am worth it”.
A good friend of mine has sat down with me and lectured me to the point of tears, and I remember a few things she said to me.
One of these things is “Don't think what you can and can’t do, focus on the goals you want to achieve. It does not matter how unrealistic they are!” I am sure we have all set goals, and I am assuming that when you think back, some of them seem so unrealistic. But the thing to keep in mind is that they were realistic to you at the time. They were what you wanted to achieve!
Another thing I remember my friend telling me was to “Stop saying you can't do it and start saying you can do it and take charge of your responsibilities and the decisions you make”. My god, she used to say that to me so often! I have now taught myself that I need to commit myself to changing my life for better! This is something that I have found I have a problem with....commitment.
So now going back to where I first began, I agree with the statement above, that is, wisdom is the sharing of wise experiences and knowledge, but a lot of it is common sense and how we apply this common sense in our attitude towards our life! If we did not listen to what others have experienced and passed on to us, we would not understand the implications on what can happen in certain situations. (sharing of wise experience and knowledge)
I think I am rambling on now but basically what I wanted to get across is “change your attitude...if you are prepared, you will succeed. If you don’t plan, you plan to fail”. |
