Miracles
Ok so there have already been a few miracles since I arrived home.
Some self created :

* I have not rushed into my office on the weekend as I normally would do.
* My Blackberry no longer receives emails and is going away because its like crack for a workaholic.
* Switching to a cell phone by weeks end ( ok an I Phone) but I will no longer be harrassed by that stupid red light and my Pavlovian response to it.
* I will make it a point to TRY and only do emails during business hours 8am -6pm
* A list of new must do's including daily meditation and spending Wed nights at AGAPE.

For those of you who watched the Secret - Rev Micheal Beckwith runs AGAPE in Culver City and one of the benefits of living in LA is the access to the wonderful non denominational message and music at AGAPE.
I use his wife Ricky's music extensively in Level 5.  Speaking of music I have an incredible collection of music that I am now in the process of loading onto three IPODs.  Well over 1000 Cds with music representing every period of my life and the many trips I have taken.  Music saved me during this trip to India and I am reconnected to my collection, listening to some music I have not vibed with in many years.  A well stocked IPOD and Purell are the best travel companions.  And some Pepto & alcohol swabs if you are going to India

The best miracle is that two weeks ago while camping at the Ganges our group was discussing family members with addictions. We all have them. The group urged me to reach out with love to my family member ( V)  with whom I have not been speaking due to my poor attempt at an intervention ( warning don't try this alone and without great thought ).  I was able to stop my attorney from sending a potentaily permanently harmful letter to  V the next day at the 11th hour thanks to great Internet service at a local cafe. I bought V a present in India and decided tonight en route to pick up Taj just to call her and let her know I'd be sending it. She called me back, she's been reading this blog  ( I had no idea ) and wants to repair our relationship. She's been going to AA daily and stopped smoking & drinking :)  All fabulous news.  V - I love you and Z .  And i look forward to seeing you in NYC soon...

Three Lessons:
# 1 - Communication- Had I have not opened up & shared with the group , they could not have advised me. If they did not advise me I would have continued down a negative path with this relationship. One of anger and blame and judgement.  If we don't communicate in life, miracles have no room to occur.  Communication is the doorway through which we need to walk.  Without it the door is shut and there is simply no where to go.
Communication is EVERYTHING !  -  - -  Loving Communication even more important.
# 2 - Shift  your relationship.  All throughout the trip Puja kept saying "If you shift your relationship to someone, then it is shifted energetically and you don't even need to do anything"  She is, in a word, right.
# 3 Take Action -
I can only hope this space lasts - If not I will be doing the LA to Rishikesh commute on a much mre regular basis.

In awe,  Bethany 77

Good for you Beth. It sounds like you have made a lot of personal progress.
On New Year's I decided to set all my clocks back to real time. I am one of those people who always had them set 5 - 10 minutes fast so I would be on time. But it actually became more stressful since I was always doing math to know the real time. So now I am living in the "real" moment rather than the one that is 5-10 minutes from now. It is amazing how liberating just that small shift can change things. I am a lot less stressed about the time thing now. I hope your changes will do that for you as well.
Namaste!

Bethanny,
I cannot tell you how much your blogging has inspired me. Technology does have a plus. I will now try to do everything I preach to my YogaFit students. To stop, listen to yourself, breathe and honor the very essence of YogaFit, let go of judgements, expectations and competition. Only then can we discover our true authentic selves. I wish I could spend just a month in LA and take advantage of the opportunities and openess, as opposed to the New England mindset.
Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us.
Namaste
