Greetings From Taiwan
I'd like to invite you to pray for the victims of the Earthquake in China and consider a fundraiser for any repuable organization that is able to give aid. Mother Earth can be cruel and unyielding at times. Personally I'd love to see North Korea use their sunstancial airforce to drop food and medical supplies to those in need but I suppose thats not going to happen. Power can be used for good or evil...... However its not for any of us to judge the karma of another country - in peril or in prosperity. The Universe has a way of balancing things out. Natural law-

I'll admit Taiwan has not been at the top of my list when it comes to travel destinations. And yes I had the image in my mind of an very grey and industrial place with factories emitting toxic fumes. YogaFit has been doing trainings in Taiwan for two years now, so it was time for me to make an appearance and do some long overdo business.
I should mention I am borderline obsessed with all things Asain - food, history, design ( Modern Asian), culture, Tao, Buddhism, Confuscious, Lao Tsu, and i could go on...... Since I am % 50 Hungarian and the Mongols invaded Hungary I know I have some bloodline that contributes to my fascination.
I have been to Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan- may I just say .......
This country is great. I am in Taipei and its clean, urban and just VERY cool !
I have not slept yet so please excuse the non sequitors, spelling, grammer - its about content at this hour :)

We arrived today at 6am. Flying in you can see how green the country is.  The city itself is bustling. After a workout and breakfast, consisting of a lot of healthy greens and some fried fish, we headed off to the Jade Market. Stalls of jade vendors with different incarnations of jade. I found a woman to purchase some necklaces from. I really try and support women in business in whatever country I travel to. In India I bought all my wooden mala beads froma woman who had a stand set up on the path on the outskirts of Rishikesh. Although the malas look like all the others I feel special about them because I supported another business women.
Anyway I digress........

Its been non stop today, my traveling companion reminds me I am always like this when I get to a new city, or any city for that matter. There is a small group of us, another YogaFit Trainer, Our host and his wife. Very gracious people. We walked and walked. The tallest building in the world is here in Taipei, Taipei 101 - it was completed in 2004 and stands over 90 stories. The views are amazing and the design was inspired by and incorporates the look of bamboo, the # 8 , the Letter S and many other auspicious Chinese Fung Shui elements. Google this building if you are at all interested in architecture. Since I  am facinated by architecture and the many styles and design options available - this was a treat !

We have been on the go all day, left LA Thursday at 1:30 am- or was that Friday ? Lost a day, got some sleep on the 13 hour plane ride.  This evening we went to the Night Market- rows and rows of merchandise, street vendors and police trying to track down illegal vendors. Just like in NYC :)
There's been some Reflexology, lots of Lemon Green Tea, some Shabu Shabu ( Japanese hot pot ) and did I mention lots of walking ?  I made the mistake of walking for over 5 hours in flip flops I bought at Albertson's Supermarket n the US for $ 4.99  Ouch.. !

Tommorow we head to the mountains, maybe some hot springs and Monday the work week starts.
More to follow.
Going to invert now :)
