Can you ever bounce back from a first impression? When you meet someone, are they ever going to change their opinon of you from the first encounter?

I'm a pretty outgoing girl, most of the time. I like to make friends and so I often talk to people randomly while I'm in line at places or anything else. However as outgoing as I am, I can also be pretty down right weird. I like to make people laugh so I'll tell jokes; some are funny and some are not. Here's an example...

I wanted to make friends so badly when I first came to college. When I first got here, I was so weird, I don't know why I did half the things I did. I just tried to embarass myself to make other people laugh, it worked but not in the way I intended. Instead of befriending me, most of the people just laughed and didn't want to be seen with me.

So it took awhile, but I learned to calm myself down. I'm still very blunt and weird, but I toned myself down a bit. Some people see the change in me, but others still just avoid me... It also got me thinking.

In high school, I was shunned because I wasn't "cool." I was sort of a drifter in all the cliques, so I had some friends that were what some may call "popular." The birthday parties would always be sort of awkard. The cool kis would talk to you, but then never talk to you at school. Even now, when I go back to town and see people from high school, it's like they're ashamed to talk to me. Do they still have the same impression of "loser" that I was in high school? Trust me, I know I've changed alot since high school.

So anyways, back to the point I sort of wandered off for a second. Do you think you could see a person differently if they changed from when you first met them? Do you honestly think a person can change who they are that you would treat them differently? Or, do first impressions last forever? Until next time....
