It feels like I’m standing and waiting at the top of a large drain pipe. I know I’m about to jump in and go for a short ride, but I don’t know from which of the two outlets I will emerge. I’ve been living in Ogden, Utah for all but 1 of my 31 years. I spent the year of 2001 working in and exploring the area surrounding Denver, Colorado. This next Friday I have a job interview in Denver that will most likely, and actually must, be a significant salary increase to get me back there. I really liked living in Denver but Ogden is where all my family and friends are, and where I’m from, not to mention an incredibly cool place to live. It may initially seem like I would only be moving there for a raise, but this is not so. I would be moving there for a change of pace and the surge of energy moving to a new place gives. An overall change that I feel I could use. Ogden is a smaller town with tons of outdoor recreational activities, but little culture, fewer arts and a down-right lackluster nightlife, and I have almost 30 years of experience with it. I do love the mountains here in Ogden, but they will always be here, Ogden will always be home, and I will always be welcomed. Denver on the other hand is big and expensive, there are lots of people, and it’s harder to get to the mountains but it has everything one could otherwise want and need. There are many things that I will need to act on once I make the decision after the interview on Friday. Adjustments towards either moving there, or somehow giving my life here the jolt of change and surge of energy I long for in moving there.

I don't think Denver is that expensive, considering compared to other larger cities anyway. I hope you make the right decision for you. And if that happens to be Denver, welcome to Colorado.
