| Well, I never thought I'd hear myself say that!

There are phrases and questions in life that you never think you will hear yourself say. Yesterday I uttered one such question! “I found this photo in the deep freeze, who is it?” The photo was of a middle aged lady standing at the gate of a beautiful cottage, with a thatched roof, white walls with dark brown beams and a garden which was full of traditional plantings. It was a chocolate box English Cottage, which looked as if it was built in the 16th or 17th Century. My mother couldn’t remember who it was, but thought it might be one of her distant cousins.
The interesting thing to me was that neither of us asked how it got in the deep freeze! We just accepted that it was there. Since mother’s short term memory has deteriorated there are lots of things that happen around the house that we just accept. But a photo in the freezer is fairly bizarre!
Going back to the questions and phrases that you never thought you’d hear yourself say. I was wondering if there are any things you don’t think you’ll hear yourselves say?

I promised myself that when I had kids and they questioned a decision I made I would never tell them, "Because I said so." Well, guess what....
Also, I love it when visitors ask me where the ice is. I tell em, "The ice is in the microwave." Heeheehee. Where do you THINK my ice is?!!!
By the way feizhoujeep, deep freeze means an electric freezer that opens up on the top much like an old fashioned trunk. They are about waist high usually and it is usually extremely difficult for short people to reach the bottom of one. That is why I put the popsicles at the bottom. Then I know how many popsicles the girls have really had. "Why can't I have more, Mommy?" Because, I said so!

when i was younger i vowed never to say to my children "When i was your age" but alas i have said it umpteen times. why do we say the things our parents used to say that really annoyed us.

That is the only food I will not eat.
A picture in the freezer?
Maybe someone wanted to freeze that memory in time.
I am expecting cupcakes while I sleep tonight.
