GASTONIA, N.C. – Twelve kids and three adults were injured Wednesday when two cars collided with a school bus in Gastonia.
The crash happened about 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Robinwood Road and E. Hudson Boulevard. Gastonia Police say the bus was driving in the right eastbound lane of Hudson Boulevard, and a man in a Ford Contour was alongside the bus in the left lane.
A third driver in a Buick driving on Robinwood Road entered the intersection and hit the Contour, causing it to spin. Then the Buick hit the bus, pushing the bus tires onto the car.
The woman in the Buick was trapped under the bus briefly, but she suffered only a minor injury and will be fine, officials say.
The roughly 50 children from Sherwood Elementary School were led off the bus just before 3 p.m. Paramedics could be seen treating several children in a grassy area near the intersection.
Eight kids and two adults were transported to Gaston Memorial for treatment, and bus driver, Vanessa Forney, was flown to Carolinas Medical Center. Another four children were taken to Gaston Memorial by their parents.
All of the injured children were able to walk off the bus, and were taken to hospitals for precautionary reasons. Hospital officials all of the children have since been released.

| dear bryan and lucille im glad that sister vanessa is doing well im glad that she did not get hurt bad and that she is home with her family again and god is great and we are still praying for brother ron spencer and his family and if you talk to them tonight let them know if they need anything to let us know and tell brother ron that sister shiloh says hello well godbless sister shiloh |

We received this note:
"Bro Jewell called today and said Sis Vanesa is fine.
He said the reason she was "Life Flighted out" was because during/after the accident she had an asthma attack and the paramedics were worried that she had a punctured lung.
