| Dodgers to move spring training to Arizona |

After 6 decades of holding spring training in Vera Beach, Florida, arrangements to move to a brand new spring training complex in Glendale, Arizona were finalized by the Los Angeles Dodgers Wednesday.
There was some concern about the construction taking longer than expected, but Thomas Harrison, executive for Mortenson Construction assured McCourt that everything will be ready. The foundation, columns, outfield wall and dugouts are complete.
After meeting with Mortenson Construction Thursday, Dodgers owner Frank McCourt said, "All systems are go and the facility will be absolutely ready for us for next spring." McCourt said the move to a new location is partly due to the large fan base in Southern California.
McCourt said he was relieved that the concerns for completion time were gone. "Today's meeting really clarified a lot for us and answered our questions. I feel very, very comfortable about where the project team is right now."
After an agreement was met with the Indian River County, the Dodgers will have to opt out of the Vera Beach lease that extends through 2021 by Monday.
On March 17, the Dodgers played their final game in the Florida complex.
