 Finding my voice
Adrift on a sea, clear as glass with a visibility of right now, she could see the truth beneath it all.  The activity of right now kept her rivoted in awe, simultaneously glimpsing the depth while feeling distracted by the obvious.  Still, she was no better off than any of those who lived amidst the chaos underwater.  Her view was just another seat in the grandstands of life, yet from above the water, her understanding resonated with loneliness and isolation.

Something changed when her daughter arrived.  Madison changed her whole world.  She arrived in a whirlwind, shaking the snowglobe of life; but she seemed to have shaken it extra hard to watch the snow twirl.  When everything settled, Madison was there, sitting in front of her.  She had separated from her mother as all of us do, but the conectedness felt between the two superceeded all barriers she had encountered, before motherhood.

Madison
She started using consonants today.  Actually goo goo-ing and ga ga-ing like the cartoon babies I saw growing up.  She laughs easily, whines purposefully.   I have been waiting for her to start talking, really talking.  I didnt care so much for real words, but the conversation aspect has been exciting.  I hadn't expected for her to mimic so well at the same time!  She can repeat words back to you, losing consonants but obviously getting so close to each word that a smile errupts from my heart every time.  I love smiling so often, I'm not sure if I have ever experienced this much innocent happiness before now.  She is charming, and so capable!  I think what I am experiencing is pride, not from other's reactions to her, but simply from my own.  I am proud of myself, and of her.  During our goodnight stories, she repeated and acted out almost every page for me.  I think my flower is blossoming!  Aww!
