Decisions are bitter or sweet.
They are the awful taste of leaving
and a family’s unmaking,
or the eyes that fill with tears
and a promise made.
Forever.
Decisions can maim or heal.
The crack of the baton
on the skull of a fallen man,
is the same decision made,
to not extend a hand
or help or release.
Decisions are quiet;
they are as the soft whisper
of a door closing,
or a hoarse sob in the night.
Decisions are spoken in anger,
in words that deny doubt
or return.
Decisions are paths not yet walked:
decisions are the future;
until the end.

This, I love because I've been in the midst of making a life altering decision lately. You're right, right on the money. I wish I was a bard.
