 Refresh the Freshened Air
Just as my study list suggested, I could use some exercise for many good reasons. So, I started mine not long ago. It was surprising my body agrees to let me move this much. I have to admit that I never exercise except for stretching out my limbs occasionally only to keep my muscles awake. I wasn’t much of an athlete, but if I didn’t stop doing all of my favourite sports when I was in elementary school, I might look different from how I look right now (in the shape of the body to be exact, hehe). I still remember clearly that I was an active basketball player when I was in elementary school, and qualified to compete. But I could question myself why that I quit the team when I was qualified. I still remember the coach wanted me to stay with the team so badly, but I kept on insist on my decision. At the end, she let me go. The same happened to badminton. I dropped out. To be honest, I do regret for my actions. Still, that doesn’t mean I have to stop playing hard.

When I was in high school, I tried to keep myself to work out. As in, if a few of my classmates (boys or girls, doesn’t matter) would like to play volleyball during PE, and they started to form a group, I would join them. Whether that was to pass the time or to get physically fit, I think I gained both anyway.

Just as time passed, I stopped doing any physical exercises since. That’s when I realised I couldn’t breathe well, and claimed to myself that I have breathing problem. Afraid of how my friends and others would think of me as an inactive person, I avoid doing physical exercises with them as much as possible. However, I don’t want to let myself giving any excuses from doing physical exercises. So, I chose to jog.

Knowing my breathing problem, I train myself to breathe properly. Instead of jog, I started by walking. I would stop by a spot to stretch my limbs before I continue to speed up my pace. I would breathe in and out properly as I walk, and slowly will drag into the motion of jog. I would climb the hills now and then, and it really helps to build strength than by just power walk or jog.

I could still hear how some people (mostly younger than me) said that it’s tiring and how much they hated the sweat. However, to me, I’ve never felt this light and relax after the exercise. Especially when I perspire, I’d feel satisfy. It feels like I’ve finally accomplished one part of my journey, and it motivates my spirit to go on. Also, I get to get in shape!

And I refuse to stop...
