 The Golf Club

On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, i work as a bar person in a very expensive golf club. The members range from the very young to the very old. The very young, who i feel have have been pressed ganged into club life, by their parents, dress in that funny golf club fashion. Sort of pringle type top and sad trousers. There are the singles looking to get layed, eyeing up and flirting with each other, or the staff, if nothing else is available. You try to humour them but its getting near slap your face time. Then there are the 30 somethings, many of whom bring their young tots and children with them to camp out for the weekend. But..... we, .the staff, like to watch the middle aged and older grouping.

They are a secret source of amusement for us. This is the group that have the " mid life crises". They are always recognisable, dyed hair, fighting back age for all its worth, carefully lowering themselves into the new cars that are much faster than they will ever be again. But i guess everyone goes through the mid life crises at some stage, and to them it is a small amount of money to pay for one last drink at the mythical fountain of youth. But the ones that cause the most humour are the ones that go several stages further. They're the ones that cannot stop at the expensive fast car, or, may be riding the shiny new motor bike in crocodile formation with the rest of their new found mates in the Harley Davidson club. Oh no they have to go for the the expensive option, the American Express Black Card, the loose your shirt option. What do they do? They, acquire a 20 something and join the "Narley boarding set".!!!They parade their newly acquired love interest, partner or wife to "the troop". You can practically hear them scream and beat their chests bellowing "Look at what i can satisfy guys. Bet you wish you were me huh?"But it's reasonable entertainment on a slow day, to guess how long love will last, after the baby is born, cause there's always a baby!!!!!
