Hey i was just wondering if i should start taking vitamins and calcium tablets?
The only calcium i get is in my skimmed milk which i have in my coffee twice a day. Is this enough?
I've noticed sometimes my bones...crack it's not nice to hear and it goes through me!
Is this due to lack of calcium in my diet? Hm...
As for vitamins, what tablets would people recommend? I don't really want to spend some ridiculous amount though, under £10 per box would be great.
Thanks

hi i take calcium combined with vitamin d tablets, they are 99p for 30 tablets in tesco,im only 40 but thought i might as well start boosting my calcium intake ready for old age, thay actually recommend that teenage girls should take them as well, you can get different types of calcium supplements depending on your age, i work with the elderly and they have 1-2 calcium tablets a day, usually the ones that they chew,so yes give it a whirl. i also take fish oils, aloe vera capsules and evening primrose oil.then of course a good diet of oily fish, salad fruit and fresh vegetables, brown bread.
good luck.

While Evening Primrose Oil can help with PMS and depression, someone who is pregnant or of childbearing age and NOT using birth control, SHOULD NOT TAKE IT as it can cause a miscarriage.
It is always a good idea to check with a doctor, pharmacist, or herbalist before starting any vitamins, supplements, and especially, herbs.
Sometimes, too large a dose or certain combinations, or mixing with prescription drugs CAN BE TOXIC.
Vitamins CAN help you to feel better and be healthier, especially, if you are lacking in any particular vitamin.
Be wise, be healthy! :)

You may already know this, but, caffeine depletes the calcium in your bones, which is a bad thing. If you drink a lot of sodas, coffee, and/or tea, and are not able to quit cold turkey, consider cutting back.
Also, you may find Glucosamine/Chondroitin helpful, as it helps with the joints and promotes cartilage growth. I agree with Chilledgal's recommendation of fish oil (omega-3). Besides, helping the joints (popping and cracking), it has many other benefits, as well: good for your heart and helps to bring down the bad cholesterol levels, etc.
I wish you the best! :)
