 LOSS

The first time I lost you, I held your hand

And we had walked around the garden of your life....reflecting.

i was too young to know this walk meant we would not be together again

...in this life.

I whispered  you secrets-of the future

Things that would happen whilst you were gone

I'm not sure now how I knew them then .

The next time I lost you, I watched you wither

All the colour faded, all the branches bare.....you waited.

I was praying that something would come and carry you on

...from this life.

I watched you finally let go of the reins

Knowing you had told me what I needed to know

I think of you both wherever I go.
