tomorrow I will getup and make a big cup of coffee..go out into the garden and see the buckets of nasturtiums orange and yellow spilling out into the grasses green as the leaves and stems which bear them..
they have minimized from years ago when great carpets of them spread across the backlawn leaving almost no sight of anything else but great piles of nasturtium flowers cozied within the green of spherical leaves..
now they are still here but more carefully growing in a clustered pot here..an old metal bucket there..
beautiful as they are and so fresh smelling..nasturtiums can be eaten in a salad raw and their seeds also..leaves are also edible and more so when young..they are a bit peppery but very tasty..and very pretty on the plate..with sprouts lettuce and cucumber and whatever delicious dressing can be found in the cupboards..a treat for the eyes in the garden and a treat for the taste in the kitchen.
