So when i went back to Houston I prepared myself for the worst. I had a suitcase packed with 5 to 6 days worth of clothes and anything else I thought I would need if I had to stay again. We left the house at 3 am to head to Houston. I of course couldn't sleep the whole way...but who could blame me?? I was going to get news that would majorly impact my life no matter which direction it went in. SO when we finally arrived I went straight to my MRI. I had psyched myself out thinking I couldn't sit in that MRI for 45minutes without any happy medicine. But after I got over my fear of IVs and was comfy on the little table wit my blanket and the awesome movie goggles watching Twilight I was all good. I ended up falling asleep and only being woken when they put the dye stuff in my IV and when everythin was all over. So far that was the simplest MRI I had experienced throughout this...Adventure. I finally found my Mom and Stepdad and headed to McDonald's in the Methodist Hospital across the way. After finally eating we realized we had time to kill before my Dad would arrive and before our appointment with the MS specialist Dr. Lotze. Mom took me to the Galleria...the MOTHER OF ALL MALLS!!! It was amazing!! I was in shopping heaven. Before I knew it my time at the Galleria was up and I had to head back to Tx. Children's. As soon as we met up with my Dad we all waited anxiously in the lobby of Dr. Lotze's clinic. We got in a room after they did the usual checking of my weight, height, and blood pressure. It seemed like we were in the room for forever before one of my previous doctors...Dr. Munday came in. She looked over all my MRIs with us and even called in my favorite Dr. Brown in so that I could see him. Dr. Munday and Dr. Brown were really happy about how much progress my eye had made since May. Finally Dr. Lotze came in and the first thing he said was "I don't think the lesion (tiny cut on my brain) Ashley has is an MS lesion." He kept talking but as soon as he said that I felt like jumping up and down. He came to the conclusion that I had caught some nasty virus and my white bloodcells ended up attackin my 6th and 12th nerve instead of the virus itself. The bad thing with viruses is that they can't be treated they just have to run their course. But since I still have my bad headaches I go back in September to a headache specialist to see whether or not my heads which they said turned into Chronic Headache Syndrome (multiple headaches one after the other) had or will become migraines. I also go back in December for one more MRI and meeting with Dr. Lotze basically to mke sure they made the right diagnosis.
