I've been wanting to get myself a tatto for a long time, probably looking at some sort of dragon tattoo, a real dragon that is, the sort of dragon that plague villages and burn feilds, none of your tribal dragon patterns thankyou very much.
I'm very cynical when it comes to some tattoos, theres a lot of things i don't like and even more that i think are just plain stupid.
For a start, as i mention, tribal symbols. No! you don't know what it means! It doens't even look good unless its tattooed amongst the folds of wrinkles of an elderly aboriginal. Its like Japanese or any other aisian tattoos. Okay, i understand that it is an artform in its own right, the language is beautiful, the most descriptive prose you might ever find come from aisian texts, but unless you have put the time and effort in to learn thee language i don't think anyone has the right to adorn their body with such a thing. Despite that, as many a speaker has spake, how do you know it says what you were told it say? A fair and frequently appropriated point.
Despite what is so clearly cyniscism, i do have much affection for this form of body art, not so much the peircings and other forms of body modification, but i do like body art.
I believe the Suicide Girls is the only form of pornography where i enjoy the art more than the body. Which takes me onto a further point.
That of the effort that these girls put in to look good. Often less is better when it comes to makeup an beauty, but the use of accessories and adornments only provides magnifiation of their beauty. I think women in dread (synthetic hair pieces or au naturelle) look fantastic, as well as other clothing, but mainly the hair.
Anyway, i am getting away from the point.
Tattoos. They should be unique, meaningful, have depth and emotion behind them. Thats why i don't and won't understand the inking of foreign languages and symbols on the body. If i may, i will take an example of my previous partner. She had five tattoos in total and each had meaning to her.
- Saggitarius symbol: Okay, obviously because she herself was a Saggitarius, and funnily enough, would you believe it, her twin sister was too. So yes, there's some meaning there. Not only was it a meaningful symbol but it was unique, she had adapted the well know symbol to her own design which incorporated her star sign within it.
Smiley Face: Probably one of the most original, yet simplest tattoos ever, it was a yellow smiley on her soft skinned side of the wrist in such away as can be proffered forwards to anyone. And this is somehting she did often. Her character was that of such bubblyness and joy that i had not seen before and it spread from her like wildfire. The smiley was offered to anyone who looked down in the mouth, stranger or no. Not only this but her sister, for some obscure reason i forget, collected anything and everything smiley.
- There were other tattoos, a pair of angels adapted by herself from her favourite Manga series and a spider also, her first tattoo, and a reminder and icon of her rebellious youth accompanied by her twin.
Sometimes, even if there is meaning and reason behind tattoos and body modifications, and even if they look fantastic, they can still be, simply put, stupid, The lady below for example, the mods here are amazing. Some kind of botox in the high cheeks i presume for the shape, feline fur tattoo across her face and modified teeth, then on top of that she has metal whisker piercings and cats eyes.

Now correct me if i'm wrong but, thats just wrong, looks incredible, don't get me wrong, i do appreciate the work and skill and pure wholesomeness, but.....no.
Do you think she'd have to have an updated passport? would she have to go through qarantine with the other animals.
Incredible....
Its massive now though isn't it, body modification. It once was taboo, then it was something that was done by few, and it defined the class of person, being in England, the classes were simply Gothic, grunge and punks that had tattoos, but now its widespread it seems t be losing its appeal, its like being told you are now allowed to eat the forbidden fruit.
Oh well, i think i'll still get a tattoo, but mine will be unique, mine will be meaningful, mine will be amazing......or maybe i'll just get the chinese for peace tattooed on my shoulder. |
