 the first piece of information
KNOWLEDGE IS THE KEY TO HEALTH

The first piece of information is this.
Most diseases are about
HOW THE BODY CAN BE MADE TO MALFUNCTION !
Yes, you read it right. How the body “CAN BE MADE” to malfunction
And it has NOTHING to do with PSYCHOLOGY.
How can the body be made to malfunction?
And who would do that?
Let’s answer the first question first.
There are two issues here and the one is that
emotions cause changes in body function.
Emotions are not the domain of psychology.
Emotions have to do with the body –physiology !!!!!
They are the bodily responses to thoughts.
( Please NOTE: psychology/psychiatry believe in past events being responsible
or brain function or malfunction such as neural glitches and chemical imbalances
all are unsubstantiated claims -NOT EVIDENCE BASED- !!! )
The matter is simple.
In healthy interaction with others there are no issues created,
so there is no lingering emotional reactivity in the body.
All emotions are transient so the body continually returns to proper function –rest-
Rest is not inactivity but the usual function of the body without any excesses or deficiencies.
Where, however a person is maltreated on an ongoing basis
as in a toxic relationship, issues are created.
Issues means ongoing emotional reactivity, which means changes in body function.
This is self-evident as issues of…..
Injustice causes anger and the body makes more energy, amongst other things.
Danger causes fear and moves the body to high energy production.
Loss causes sadness and affects the process of water usage and elimination.
Problems cause thinking and where the person has insufficient information
they cannot resolve the problem so circular thinking or worry results.
So the body continually favours conditions for thinking.
All emotion makes changes to the way the body functions.
And these changes remain while ever the maltreatment is ongoing.
There is nothing mysterious about it and nothing to theorize over!
Only when maltreatment ends do the issues that were created end
And that allows the body return to normal, balanced function ( rest ).
And it is useless to argue that a person “ought not to react” because no one is a block of wood.
I have found that those people who claim ‘you ought not to react’
are themselves highly reactionary but hide their emotions beneath a cool exterior,
and then act underhanded and with vengeance as I will explain later.
All people react emotionally, every moment of every day and every night, all throughout our lives,
only most of it is very slight and subtle and usually escapes our conscious awareness.
To prove this: go to Meditational exercise1 (next blog).
Thoughts and the corresponding emotion (feelings) are what make us who we are !!!
Where serious issues are created, all people react whether they show it or not.
And where body function is concerned, it matter naught if you show your reaction or not,
changes in the body will occur.
This leads us to realize that ethics and health are the two sides of a single coin!
This is an important point in understanding the opposing forces in society today.
And I cannot but discuss these forces later because they are crucial to health, as also to democracy.
Okay, emotional reactivity is half the story, so what else is there?
