| bear with me and my crazy punctuation

I am on a keyboard that seems to be configured for someone smoking crack. I havenºt actually found the apostrophe key yet, but I imagine it would take forever for me to type if I ever found it, so Iºm afraid you, my reading public (which should by now include you, Sam...itºs you Iºm writing a book for) will have to just use your imagination.
Iºve recovered from my little brain explosion of Saturday and have returned to a somewhat more positive state of mind. I think it was helped by the fact that I just bought two new pairs of jeans. I am in need of wardrobe reviving. Also that I caught up with Phillipa today, who I went to school with. And perhaps that I made some friends over breakfast (I am the only person I know who makes breakfast friends), one of whom is ESTONIAN! She seems absolutely lovely and we hit it off, and hung out all morning. She was rather chuffed that I knew anything about Estonia (perhaps a little freaked out that I knew so much).
Iºm staying at Generator now, which in comparison to Globetrotter, is mildly interesting. The beds are nowhere near as good as Globetrotter was, it had little enclosed pods that allowed heaps of privacy, and the bathrooms arenºt as nice, but apparently the social scene is supposed to be fairly good. Iºve decided to skip their dinners (it was four quid for a johns-style meal) but I guess Iºll probably hit up the bar tonight, see how the trivia thing goes. I slept like shit there last night, though, I had a snorer on the bunk below me, a snorer on either side, and people constantly getting up and turning on and off the lights. I meant to try and find a sleeping mask today, but completely forgot. I have a feeling I left my own at Amboºs with the rest of my stuff. Mum, I have to point out, if you get anyone who needs a hostel in London, recommend Globetrotter! Best hostel ever, wishing I hadnºt left it!
For those out of the loop, I got a job the other day. Itºs as a live-in au pair for a family of four out in Finchley - the mother and I totally hit it off, the kids are nice enough (four and ten) and the pay is phenomenal! I move in there on Friday, so until then I am hosteling it up and enjoying the touristy sites. Phillipa and I are going to hit up Madame Tussauds on Sunday, which should be fun, and I think Iºll probably do the British Museum tomorrow, and other free things.
Seeing Phillipa today really lifted my spirits, it was so lovely to talk to someone doing the same thing as me. It was really thanks to her that I got my job, she suggested aupair world, and within half an hour of my posting a profile, I got a call from Laura. I met Laura the following day, had the job the next! Did I mention theyºre going to take me to Cyprus with them? How freaking brilliant is that?!
So anyway, I like London, Iºve been enjoying myself here, apart from my little bout of homesickness. I had fun at Amboºs, it was brilliant to have somewhere to cook, but I do really like being in the city.
Oh, by the way, Iºm going to dye my hair brown tonight. Apologies to anyone who liked it blonde.
