I can see why a lot of expats settle there. Although the lake is at it's best when viewed from a distance (quite polluted) the area and climate are very attractive. There are a lot of communities around the lake well connected by buses so one could do some low cost exploring for entertainment....

No young lady. Swimming is not recommended. Diving in a wet suit might be more appropiate. Looking from the shore is more my speed.

I would recommend Guad! And there are so many other places in the "neighborhood" to explore. I have high hopes for Morelia, then it's on to a few smaller centers. I think every one will be an experience to be cherished. Since my first trip to Mexico it is the PEOPLE that I fell in love with most....

They are! A lot of the churches and government buildings date back to the 16th and 17th centuries. And even the present day culture here is a whole different world from what I'm used to.

Hi John. I think it would be a good project, maybe even fodder for a book that no one would read. Yeah, maybe a good excuse to come back for a week or two. Find an interpreter so I can talk to some of the vendors and see how they feel about their lives. And take lots of photos!! I'll betcha that...
