So one of my roommates (other Annie) and myself had to go do our laundry last night...which is like 5 blocks away. Usually we have to drag our laundry bags the whole way there but this time annie recalled that her mother had sent a rolling laundry bag/cart thing with her. That was pretty sweet...not having to carry our bags all that way.
So we were walking there and just as we were approaching the door of the laundry mat...the cart dropped on one side and we saw that one of the wheels had fallen off. We laughed and popped it right back on. At least we were already there.....
After an hour or so of waiting around/studying, our laundry was finally finished. We loaded up the cart with our bags and set out for home again. We were talking about one time Annie had fallen (like a turtle) on the subway and how it was the funniest thing that had happened while we've been here. Right then as we were crossing the street from 77th to 76th, the right wheel fell off of the cart again! haha we were laughing so hard and she just kept dragging the cart with the metal dragging on the ground...I ran back to get the wheel:) Of course we were still hysterically laughing when i reached the curb and we stopped to pop the wheel back on quickly again. How convienent for an entire van full of kids our age to be parked right next to the corner watching this happen...of course they were cracking up as well.
So we had the wheel back on and started to walk towards home again....and we made it about 5 feet before the wheel just snapped right back off. We were cracking up to the point where we couldn't even talk and the van full of kids were too. This time, i put down my purse and sat on the ground and began smashing the wheel onto the cart (i was determined to not allow it to come off again). Just as i had it on Annie started laughing again and said,"Anne, the OTHER wheel fell off!" I totally thought she was kidding...how the hell could that happen. haha but it did. I looked over and the other wheel was lying on the ground next to the cart. By this time we were both sitting/rolling on the sidewalk laughing sooo hard and people were just walking by us. A few asked if we were okay or needed help and we just replied with laughter each time. Then Annie stood up, dumped our bags off of the cart and began pushing it towards a pile of trash sitting on the road. I was laughing and someone from the van of kids yelled,"They're leaving the wheels!" So I walked back to get them and placed them next to the cart in the trash pile.
As we laughed and walked the rest of the way home Annie said,"Thats why my mom found that cart just lying on the beach....she was so excited it was free and now I know why it was."
