Scripture: Genesis 6:1-4
It says in the Bible: Book of Genesis 6 verse 1, ‘Now it came to pass when men began to multiply on the face of the earth and daughters were born to them, it reads that the Sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were beautiful. And they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose. And the Lord said, “My Spirit should not strive with man forever for he is indeed flesh, yet his days shall be 120 years”.
Question: Who were these "Sons of God"? I, myself for a time, thought that they could be fallen angels but I was wrong in that presumption. After doing some research I learned that these
were people.
Many types Bible paraphrases confuses people into believing they were supernatural heavenly beings or fallen angels. But they were not! What kept bothering me was the question of, how do Angels, if they were that even the fallen angels procreate even when they took over a sinful human male?
Someone pointed out to me that they do not in fact proceate and I thank this person for bringing that to my attention and making me rethink what I have read. Fallen angels or heavenly beings cannot procreate.
There is no mention anywhere in the Bible that gives information on Angels procreating.
Bible: Luke chapter 3 - Verse 38: Talks about when Luke does the chronology of Jesus. He says, ‘And Enos was the son of Seth, who was the son of Adam, who was the son of God.’ Adam is called the son of God.
Bible: 1 John chapter 3 verse 1: It says, ‘Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us that we should be called sons of God.’ The Bible is telling us in two different places, two times that the sons of God are people; but they’re not just regular people, these are special people totally committed committed to the Lord.
Adam and Eve had another son named Seth after Cain killed Abel. It says that Seth, feared the Lord. Seth and his descendants were children of God. Cain was carnal Enos. That means he was a mortal man. He did not have everlasting life. In Seth and his descendants , the truth of God was preserved for as long as they remained separate. ; but when the descendants of Seth who were at that time, they were the sons of God as long as they stayed separate and not mixing with other race.
But they did not stay separate and began to marry. The children of Seth,( who was Adam and Eve's son born after Cain murdered Abel) began to intermarry with the daughters of Cain. That distinction, that holiness was lost and gone, it left. The sons of God were the descendants of Seth that were true to the Lord. They still offered sacrifice to God. The daughters of men were the daughters of Cain’s descendants who had not the knowledge of God preserved.
That’s the reason why the next verse says, God said "My Spirit will not always strive with man. He’s got 120 years before the flood."
