 Where is Eden
A garden in Eden.  Man's work in the garden was to exercise dominion while serving - a good combination.  Eden, or the land of Eden, probably lay in the lower part of the Babylonian valley.  Though many rival claims for the location of Eden have been advanced the evidence seems to point to the area between the Tigris and the Euphrates as the cradle of civilization.

In this quiet place of indescribable beauty, man was to enjoy fellowship and companionship with the Creator and to work in accord with the divine blueprint to perfect His will.  Magnificent trees furnished sustain food, but man had to work to care for them.    Adequate water supply ensured by a vast irrigation system, a network of rivers that flowed in and about the garden.

In order to lead man to full moral and spiritual development, God gave him specific commands and a specific prohibition to govern his behavior.  He also gave him the power of choice and set before him the privilege of growing in divine favor.   Thus began the moral discipline of man.

I often wonder what would have been like if Adam and Eve would not have eaten from the forbidden tree.  How would the world be today.  No sickness, no hunger, no murders, no wars, no need to have police, courts and all kinds of weapons to protect ourselves.  The land would be pure without poisons and the waters would be crystal clear and safe to drink.  The sea life would be fantastic and healthy.  No misery of any kind or problems.  A life free of worries.

This concept of a perfect & harmonious world, with no injustice or hatred against our brothren & ourselves is a beautiful fantasy. A dream in which we all got along, all family in the eyes of God. Equality, acceptance of differences and recognition of each person's uniqueness. I would love to share a world with this much compassion with you, my family and friends- with the entire world.
But the reality of it all, which we all have to face at some point, is that in our lives we will never know this feeling of unconditional love of our neighbors, our friends, our family- people we dont even know. Not totally. I guess in some ways, some of us are lucky enough to have close enough relationships with the ones we care for, but it will never be the way you described it.
Yes, life would be dramatically different in that alternate universe...so to say. Imagine no children starving, no hate crimes, or celebrities (lol). I cant dwell on this subject any longer because now Im rambling... This subject has me pondering now to no ends! Lol

What a life we could all have had! Yet, even though it turned out the way that it has, there are still so many things to be thankfull for, not just in our own lives, but in lives of others as well. Ive said this before- Through the darkness, there is light. We have the capability of turning our world around & making it better. Perhaps not a totally perfect world, laying in the gracious hands of the Lord, but better than the world we're living in now. It takes hard work, humility, compassion and a great deal of patience. But who has the time for that, right?
Maybe one day our children or grandchildren will feel closer to this feeling- to this beautiful world you so wonderfully described.
