I was always very skinny. I remembering agonizing about how thin I was and drinking strawberry milkshakes to gain weight and ending up sick in the stomach from it. I was not a big eater. I enjoy fruits and some vegetables but other foods were a chore to eat.
Since I was not fed a proper and nutritional diet while growing up, and never taught to cook for cooking was very little in my home. Meals were what ever was in the pantry and that consisted of the ordinary grains foods. Hardly any meats, vegetables or fruits. What ever there was. So, all of us kids were skinny. My brother was so upset with him been so thin that he went with me to get those milk shakes and hamburgers that I detested but we did not gain an ounce. It was a very painful time for both of us regarding our looks. It affected my brother more than me emotionally.
My son goes throu the same ritual of milkshakes. expensive potions from health foods stores, eating meat and does not gain an ounce. He went to the doctor for a physical and ideas or information on what to do about his weight and the doctor practically ignored him. He came home all upset and determine never to see a doctor for his weight problem again. I wanted him to get a referral for a specialist who dealth with his kinds of problem but he did not know or remember how to ask. Now to get him to see the doctor again and take the note with him that explains why he wants and needs to see a specialist is almost impossible because he will not do it. He is a very angry man.
I in turned, after having a total hysterectomy which I regret. I had a lot of health problems after that and had to go on all kinds of medications. I have gained some extra pounds that I cannot shake. I swim and try to do some exercises and try also watching what I eat and they just stubbornly stay on me. Darn! That enfuriates me.
I was telling my sister about my extra pounds problems and she recommended I buy "Trim-Maxx" all natural no chemicals-nocaffeine oriental herbal tea. It cost me $10.00 for a box of 60 tea bags and it brough 10 free bags total of 70 tea bags. First time I tried it I did not even read the instructions, I put 2 bag of the tea in a cup of hot boiling water, then waited for the tea to cool. When it did I drank the entire cup at that time. Next morning I was in trouble, terrible pain in my abdomen and I had to go badly. I spent the day going. When I told my sister she laughed. She said, " You don't put two bags, only one, and drink it slowly." My own fault for not reading the instructions. But I must say, I felt as light as a feather the day after the pain horror ended. But I was scared of the tea and put it away.
I tried it again this week. Now I am using one tea bag and drinking only 1/2 a cup throu the day. I am scared of the same episode of last time. It is working fine. I will increase to one full cup, sipped through the day but no more as long as my body tolerates it.

I was reading the Bible, the book of Daniel. Three years into the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah came the Babylonian king unto Jerusalem, and besieged it.
King Nebuchadnezzer spoke to Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring [certain] of the children of Israel, and of the king's seed, and of the princes;
Children in whom [was] no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as [had] ability in them to stand in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans.
And the king appointed them a daily provision of the king's meat, and of the wine which he drank: so nourishing them three years, that at the end thereof they might stand before the king. Daniel 1:5
Now among these were of the children of Judah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah:
Daniel 1:6
But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. Daniel 1:8
Dan 1:10 And the prince of the eunuchs said unto Daniel, I fear my lord the king, who hath appointed your meat and your drink: for why should he see your faces worse liking than the children which [are] of your sort? then shall ye make (me) endanger my head to the king.
Then said Daniel to Melzar, whom the prince of the eunuchs had set over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, Dan 1:11
Prove thy servants, I beseech thee, ten days; and let them give us pulse to eat, and water to drink. Dan 1:12
Then let our countenances be looked upon before thee, and the countenance of the children that eat of the portion of the king's meat: and as thou seest, deal with thy servants. Dan 1:13
So he consented to them in this matter, and proved them ten days. Dan1:14
And at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the king's meat. Dan 1:15
Thus Melzar took away the portion of their meat, and the wine that they should drink; and gave them pulse. Dan 1:16
Now at the end of the days that the king had said he should bring them in, then the prince of the eunuchs brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar. Dan 1:18
Dan 1:19 And the king communed with them; and among them all was found none like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: therefore stood they before the king. Dan 1:19
