"Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men. "Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but , whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or the age to come."
_____Bible Matthew 12:5 vs. 31-32
=====
The first time I read those words from the Bible I started to worry. Oh! No! Have I done such a thing? Have I committed the unpardonable sin? I started my research on what these verses meant and who would say such things that they would not be forgiven.
The thought of an unpardonable sin has brought grief to many people throughout history. The guilt and fear is unnecessary. If you are afraid that you have committed the unpardonable sin, that is sure proof that you have not!
Those who committed the unpardonable sin had no godly regrets. They had no interest in the forgiveness of God. Remember, Peter denied Jesus three times, yet Jesus forgave him. Matthew 12:31-32, in the Bible, is referencing Jesus performing miracles in the power of the Holy Spirit. Through these miracles, it is very clear that Jesus is the promised Messiah. In this passage, the Pharisees claimed that Jesus was empowered by a demon named Beelzebub (Matthew 12:24). They were connecting Jesus and the Holy Spirit's power to Hell, not heaven. Jesus was saying this was the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit - it was unpardonable. They had rejected Him.
It appears that the situation of this unpardonable sin against the Holy Spirit existed only while Christ was ministering on earth. The unpardonable sin, like the one in Matthew 12, cannot be committed today. We are not able to attribute to Satan the miracles of God, as performed by Jesus Christ.
However, when people reject Jesus Christ and His gift of eternal life, they are in a sense committing the unpardonable sin of unbelief but that is only after they have died and all their chances for redemption has been exausted. If you reject Christ and his death on the cross for the forgiveness of your sins, but you repent before death cancels all your opportunities then the Lord God will forgive you and all your sins will be made white as snow. But if you hang on to your disbelief on the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ then you have made a concious choice not to be were God is, which is in paradise or heaven. Remember, God is not sending you to hell because he is angry with you, No. He does not operate like that. It is you who is deciding that you want no part of Christ and God so you made your reservation in Hell Hotel, you check in but you don't check out.
God is a loving God and he wants his most priceless creation to be happy and be in paradise with him. The hell you will be residing in because of your rejection of Christ was not made for humans. It was created for Satan and his angels, his foot soldiers. But where is God to place the spirit of a person who does not repent of his sins and does not believe in God. There is no way he can place you in heaven. You would not be happy there and cause trouble for those who want to be there and love God.
God lives it up to you, and you only. You make that decision where to spend eternity. Because spend it you will. Your body will return to the earth but your spirit, the part that is you, the part that thinks, acts, proclaims that part will live on. If it was not so God would have told us. But he said, "I go to prepare a place for you, so where I am you will be also." If he is going to prepare a place for you then is because you are going to go on living in a different form. But, your spirit will feel, dread, regret, cry and suffer the consequences of his/her decision to reject Christ. You will be living in your own private hell, in darkness because the light of God is not there. Malvolent creatures and other like you, plus murderes, rapist, child perverts and the like humans will be there also. But everyone will be concern with only their suffering.
Satan and his army of angels will keep company in the lake of fire, they will have no special powers because they are defeated and chained. A terrible and very sad future for those who reject Christ blood and sacrifice. You had a free card, get out of jail like card, that is Jesus sacrifice on the cross but you did not accepted. Now Satan deserves to be cast into the lake of fire. He created rebellion in heaven and took 1/3 of the angels of God with him when he was cast out of heaven. He was cast down to earth and he roams around having a great old time. But his day will come and he will suffer the consequences of his rebellion. We do not have to end up in hell, alone, lonely, sad, thirsting for a cool drink of water, wanting some relief from our torture. Suffering all the emotions we now suffer. Wanting some light instead of darkness. No, we don't have to, is our choice.
I choose the Lord, I thank Him for his death on the cross and his forginess. I know that I am a sinner I have done some heavy and awful things in my life which now I regret and asked God to forgive me through the blood of his son. He has. Now I have to learn to forgive myself. But I know that one day I will be with God and my love one that has passed on and believe in the Lord. We will be reunited. That is one wonderful aspect of paradise. To see and be with God and my family.
