Follow the leader is the way most people want to live their lives. Do as others do. Don't be the odd ball. In fear of ridicule, hate and all kinds of sorrows people rather go with the flow and not make waves. We are all individuals yet we act like a pack following the leader. The biggest mouth, the one that scares everybody into submission.
I seen that all through my school years and in my place of employment. Wlhen I was in high school kids worship those popular kids and wanted to be like them so they could share in some of the fall out. I had never been one to follow the leader. That of course put me in the not so popular crowd. I did not want to smoke, do drugs, drink alcohol till I puke my brains out. So I just existed in school and did what I had to do. I was not a christian back then but I knew that such behavior was not good for me. I remember kids smoking pot at 6:30 in the morning while walking to school. Then there was the time of the streaking fad. You know, kids got naked and ran accross the room real fast.
There was a gorgeous, I mean this girl was so beautiful that guys were drooled just by watching her walk by. Her name was Robin. She was a very nice girl. We shared a class named Art of Writing. One day while in class, she lowered her jean and showed off her bare butt to the class. The teacher was not there at the time. Why in the heck would she do such a thing. Because she was part of the in crowd, the popular crowd, you know the crowd that thinks they are it. I wonder how she feels about that today, now that she is older.
That would be the wide gate, where a lot of people enter. I prefer to go the narrow way even if it is more difficult.
I want to be a disciple of Jesus Christ and follow his teachings. I don't want religion nor need religion. I just want to follow God's way because I love God and I believe his son Jesus died for me and all the people of the world in order to provide an avenue for the human race to have access to God. I am not a saint, nor perfect, nor better than any person on earth but I still want to follow the truth and not the lies.

Amen to you. I too struggle with my walk for the Lord, but by the Grace of God, I am Forgiven and Clean....Keep walking in the narrow, for your crown is in heaven not on earth....
