Why do the nations conspire and the peoples plot in vain? "Let us break their chains," they say, "and throw off their fetters."
The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them. Then he rebukes them in his anger and terrifies them in his wrath, saying,
"I have installed my King on Zion, my holy hill."
I will proclaim the decree of the LORD :
He said to me, "You are my Son;
today I have become your Father.
Ask of me,
and I will make the nations your inheritance,
the ends of the earth your possession.
You will rule them with an iron scepter;
you will dash them to pieces like pottery."
Therefore, you kings, be wise; be warned, you rulers of the earth.
Serve the LORD with fear
and rejoice with trembling.
Kiss the Son, lest he be angry
and you be destroyed in your way,
for his wrath can flare up in a moment.
Blessed are all who take refuge in him.

How foolish we all are thinking that we have any kind of power to rule over anything at all. We don't even have the power to wake up in the morning and take a breath unless "The King of Kings", permits that we do. Can we stop death and disease from coming to claim our bodies? Can we stop the aging process that makes us as weak as a new born babe?
Today is a very windy day as it was last night, wind gust of over 40 miles per hour. Yet I cannot do anything to stop the wind, rain, snow, heat of the scorching sun in the summer days. We think we are so smart with all our science and our incredible progress in our civilization. But did we ever stop and think that all the things we have done and plan to do have been done before. That all we are doing is replaying an act of previous past. Anything we do under the sun could have already been done by prior distant ancient civilizations we yet to learn about or discover.
Take a good look around and think how tiny and insignificant we are when we compare ourselves to things that God has created. Our ideas are insignificant and important only to us if we compare them to God's ideas. We can be very foolish to think we know it all, yes, foolish indeed!
