Literature is a category of writing that includes such works as novels, poems, and plays. In the past we enjoyed an extensive list of stories that we call folk tales, fairy tales, and fables, children's poems known as nursery rhymes, all these works of literature have been handed down from generation to generation. A great majority of the published works have survived time and are remembered for the stories they tell, experiences described, and wisdom portrayed. In our beloved country USA we had so many works of literature by female and males authors, like Ralph Waldo Emerson, an American thinker and writer of the 1800s, Emily Dickinson, American Poet also of the 1800s, William Folkner, 1900's, who wrote mostly about the American South, Robert Frost an American Poet 1900s and more incredibly talented American writers.
What do we have today that compares to yester years? Our society views have drastically changed. The majority of published written works are based on sordid stories of demoralized ideas of violence and sex. Our wonderful English language have gone into the trash bin and has been watered down or replaced by vulgarity, profanity and blasphemy. We in America are in great need of good, solid, literature that we can pass down to future generations. How sad that a country so wonderful and rich with previous works of talented authorss have been replaced by writtings based on idiocity and vulgarity. Where are the true and talented authors of today? Come out, come out wherever you are! |
