Chills and virus care demand the same methods of medicinal attention. Fever tells you, something foreign has invaded this body, lets jack up the body temperature to kill this invader. When chills and fever persist, you need to see a doctor to evaluate your symptoms. The doctor knows what to do in cases of respiratory infection caused by bacteria or a virus. As much as we all know about colds and viruses through the years of dealing with them as we become infected, we still don't know that there are so many kinds of bacterial and virus infections.
These little enemies of the human body know better than to attack twice with the same platoon of soldiers. If they were defeated previously by antibiotics the know enough to regroup and form another kind of attack. Remember, their job is to enter, divide and conquer. While your body is under a lot of stress, lack of sleep, and many other things that weakens the immune system, these little buggers are waiting for the coast to be clear to invade your body. They know that sooner or later you will let your guard down. But wait, they cannot invade with the same plans of attack previously used. They need to use other tactics, mask your symptoms so your body is not quick to recognize what has invaded their territory and send out their white soldiers, your own platoon of white blood cells killers. These viruses and bacterial infections keep changing their MO, so you have to be on guard.
If you have the chills, your body is telling you that a fever is on its' way. Don't use alcohol rubdowns. Rubbing alcohol evaporateson your skin too quickly to do any good in bringing down a fever and it stresses you body more by making you cold too quickly. Your best weapon of attacking that fever is to warm up your house, sit in a tub of body cool temperature water, tbut only if you can manage and you are not home alone. Never get into a tub when you are feeling dizzy, or weak. If you feel that sick, piled up your blankets and get in bed. Take over the counter medication for your fever and drink, drink and drink lots of fluid, a fever can dehydrate your body and that is dangerous.
Remember this, if your chills are bad enough that you feel like you are shaking all over, suspect an infection that has invaded your blood bloodstream. If you have traveled in the tropics, it could be malaria.

God in his great wisdom has supplied our bodies with defenses to protect itself from invasion destine to kill us. He created plants that through out history of the world have been used to conquer disease. Today we don't trust medicinal plants as much and we rather use chemical drugs. That is fine if your body can tolerate them but don't forget that before there were pharmacist and drug companies plants were the rescuers of the body. Don't be too quick to discard God's healing way. The problem that we have and that is including me, is that we want to get well quickly. So, we want that medical miracle chemical cure. We want it and we want it now. I myself have to discipline myself to slow down and wait for my body to react to medication.
