There is a process to forgive and been forgiven. It does not matter who you are, what you are, where you come from, how many sins or transgressions you have committed. The process is the same for the rich and the poor, for the great and the lowly. To start with, sins must be confessed, recognized, claimed as your own. We cannot be passing the blame of our sins to another person, circumstances or whatever. All humans have free will. We act according to our thoughts put into action. If our hearts are wrong then our actions follow the wrong path. That is why is very important to know why and on what we want forgiveness and who is responsible for the sins you want forgiven.
God does not tolerate sin. If it seems like the wicked are getting away with "murder" is not because God is not going to hold them accountable and justice will be denied. It is because God in his great love for humanity gives people ample time to repent and change their ways. God desire most of all to have a loving relationship with his creation. It is our own unconfessed, unrecognized sins that separate us from our creator.
God is there waiting for you to recognize your sins and ask for forgiveness. He will never bring out your sins, or shame you once you have confessed them, turn away from sin and make your heart right with him. He will receive you into his loving arms and cast your sins into the abyss of the sea far away from him and you never to be remember again in this life or the next. They are deleted from existance, even the most darkest, evil sins can be forgiven. That is why he send his only son Jesus Christ to die and pay the penalty for your sins. There is forgiveness at the cross.
We humans who want forgiveness need to forgive others for whatever they have done to hurt us or our family members. Once we decide to forgive we most never again talked about their transgressions. It must be deleted. Even if it comes to mind, which it will for it is very difficult for humans not to remember something someone did to hurt us. But immediately when it comes to mind we must refuse to think or meditate about it. Instead we will repeat to outrselves that we have chosen to forgive and forget. It does not matter if that individual that hurt you will not ask God or you for forgiveness. Be on guard your enemy, the enemy of your soul, will try to rekindle your feelings of hate and hostility towards that person by bringing to life who did what and when.
