The Spirit says clearly that some people will abandon the faith in later times; they will obey lying spirits and the teachings of demons. Such teachings are spread by deceitful liars, whose consciences are dead, as if burnt with a hot iron.

No one can deny that within at last fifty years there has been an such an outbrake of spiritual teachers of all kinds. I can name a few. Starting with Jim Jones who lead about 900 members to massive suicide. then you have Dvid Korash, who claimed he was Jeses and took to his death about 65 member with him to the grave. Then you have the PTL scandal With Tammy Faye Baker, who recently died of cancer, and her husband Jim Baker, who did time in prison.
