 Faith crisis
What is faith?  Are there different kinds of faith?  Can we have more faith than one? What does faith means to you personally?  Are you without faith or do you know anyone who does not have faith?  Where does faith comes from?  How do we get it?  Why is it so important in our lives?  Can we make it without faith?

To start with lets find out what faith is?   Faith is what you believe, put your trust on or what you hope for.  It can be religion, Christianity, person or person, an idea or other things. It is our human concept of future events that will affect us personally, outcomes or destiny.

We acquire knowledge of faith through our parents or people responsiblie for our upbringing.  As children we believe what our caretakers tell us about us and events in our lives.  A child believes in Santa Claus due parental messages.  Children believe what they are told because they have no ability nor knowledge to question, understand or reason that parents can sometimes be mistaken, misinformed or just plain lie to them.

As adults we start questioning what we believe, search for evidence, we use facts and research to arrive at the truth. Some types of faith come by interpretation of ideas, concepts, information that many philosophers and theologians have declared to be the trusthworth due to their studies and research.  We, as a civilized society hold in high esteem and credibility well the well educated authority people according to their fields of studies which at times can end in self induce presumptions or interpretations.

Take the Christian faith.  Ii is often confused with religion.  It is not a religion.  Christian faith is a believe in the person, Jesus Christ and all that he stands for. Our trust is place on Jesus Christ as the Lamb of God and we rely on God.  His word is the truth, the way and salvation.  Seeking understanding of the world, creation and our coinhabitans brothers we search for the truth in different sources until we arrive at the teachings of Jesus Christ.  There we study and start understanding.  This is not the follow the leader game.  Is an honest research of the soul and mind .

Before you believe you must understand the who, why, when, where and how.   We believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God, that he gave his life for a sinful humanity so that we may have a loving relationship with our creator, God.   We know he is worship due because of his works.  His recipe for life living based on love and brotherhood is good.

Religion is a man made enterprise.  Their God or gods are man made. Some worship deities, demons, ghosts, spirits, material things, nature and so on.  Their gods require mankind to do for them not what they can do for mankind without any giving or sacrifices.

Even atheism is a faith.  Their believe in unbelief.  Atheists  work very hard to disprove Christianity. They think Christianity is a superstition.   But why do they work so hard to distroy a faith they find invalid?  They do not go after religions.  There is something about Christianity that bothers them so much.  What is gnawing at their souls?  Is it that they have to prove to themselves that they are right?

I just wanted to comment about the aethiests. In big cities such as New York, the aethiests are putting up billboards and posters in buses that say such things like...there probobly is no GOD so just live your life and be happy. I think that is their right of free speech but at the same time...all they are doing is encouraging ppl to talk about GOD. And if they have to say probobly they don't really know themselves do they? Some people have a problem with believing in something they can never see or touch ..but for me that is what "faith" is...and your right, you can have faith in religion or in certain people or ideas, you brought up some good points...

Urlildragon: Thank you for your comments and well founded wisdom. Some humans have the urge to connect to a higher power source. Others want to go at it alone. The wonderful thing about it is that God let us make up our own minds. Freedom of choice is a God given gift.
