 Deliverer
It was Friday night and him and his girlfriend of four years were in heavy traffic traveling towards Rehobath beach were they will spent the hot, summer week end at their grand parents in Rehobath.   They were staying by themselves in his grandparents beach house which was tucked away in a nice wooded area of Rehobath.  They arrived late in the night and exhausted from their car trip. There were neighbors around these small community but they only came for summer weekends and this time they did not see any lights on the houses nearby.  It looked as if  they were the only people there that Friday night. It was always kind of spooky been the only one at the beach house while not a soul was around in the nearby houses. The area was pitch black and they always had a sense of fear that some evil person might come out of the wood and attack them as they have seen in so many horror movies.

Upon arrival he quickly enter the house and headed for the downstairs room big air conditioner. He turned it on and they both walked upstairs entering one of the many bedroom and closing the door behind went to bed.  They fell asleep quickly.  Asleep for a couple of hours they both were awaken by this terrible unrecognizable noise.  She was very frighten and he was worried.  "Do you hear that?', they whispered to one another.  What is it?  Within minutes of been awaken they smelled this terrible caustic odor.  They were now afraid thinking that maybe some prankster or some evil people or person was trying to break into the house and spraying some kind of poison.  He told her he was going to investigate, she pleaded with him not to go. He grabbed a heavy wooden club he had kept by his side near the bed. He put it there just in case there was an intruder he needed to protect himself and his girl.

Upon exiting the bedroom door he was hit by the horrid smell of something acrid but could not figured out what it was from. Turning all the lights as he walked by he followed the noise and the smell to the downstairs room were the big air condition and saw plumes of heavy acrid smoke coming through the vents or the big air condition and the noise was deafening coming from the air condition.  He touched the air condition and realized that it was very hot and it was on fire from within and melting down all the componets and the case was melting. That was what they had smelled the melting of the air condition .

With the wooden club he had he pulled off the electric plug of the wall.  Ran upstairs and told his girlfriend what was happening. Rusing around the house he opened all the windows in the house to try to clean the air of the toxic fumes.  Going back downstairs to the room where the burning up air conditioner was still giving out noxious fumes, he pulled the plug of the wall and the using a pair scissors he cut off the end of the power cord so that no one could turn that defective air condition after his time was up.  After the room clear of toxic fumes they went back to bed and quickly fell asleep.

This is the story my son told me about this week end at the shore.  Mom, he said. "If it was not for the noise of the air condition we would have died either from toxic poisoning or the fire that was near starting. I said, "Praise God!"  Thank you father God for protecting my son and his girl from certain death by fire.  I am forever in your debt. Amen.

As my favorite Bible psalm 91  reads: Psalms
Chapter 91

You shall tread upon the asp and the viper, trample the lion and the dragon.
Whoever clings to me I will deliver; whoever knows my name I will set on high.

All who call upon me I will answer; I will be with them in distress; I will deliver them and give them honor.

With length of days I will satisfy them and show them my saving power.
Bible:   Psalms   Chapter 91

Notes
A prayer of someone who has taken refuge in the security of the temple. The psalmist is confident that God's presence will protect the people in every dangerous situation.
The final verses are an oracle of salvation promising salvation to those who trust in God.

The shelter of the Most High: basically "hiding place" .  The shadow of the Almighty

literally, "the shadow of the wings of the Almighty."
It makes clear that the shadow is an image of the safety afforded by the outstretched
wings of the cherubim in the holy of hollies.

Sweet and loving God:  Thank you so much for saving my sons and his girlfriends life this weekend. My heart is eternally grateful for hearing my prayers for my children's protections.
