 Coveting
You shall not covet your neighbor's house; wife, man or maidservant, ox, or anything that is your neighbor's.  It means not to desire, to want your neighbor's goods.  Your neighbor does not only include your neighbor next door to your home.  It applies to any person even though that person does not live next to your home or near you.  Any person of whatever creed, race or religion.  This is the Lord's 10th commandment.

Why would that be a sin.  Because when you desire to have something that already has ownership your mental wheels starts skimming.  You might be strong enough to just want it and lust for it and do nothing about it which is still coveting but some people will put their thoughts into action.  If they cannot obtain what they covent from their neighbor by hook or crook they may set out to destroy it.  Like the saying, "If I can't have  it neither will you."
Coveting leaves the door wide open for other kinds of sins.    It involves  greed, avarice, envy  the desire to amass earthly goods without limits, you never have enough.   Out of envy hatred is born, so is calumny, joy when this person suffers misfortune and your displeasure caused by his/her property.
