| Mondays suck. Even when you're unemployed!

So, today I went into town to meet my mother for a "girly afternoon". This, people, has never happened to me before in all my 36 years! so I was rather looking forward to it. I had visions of lunch, followed by maybe a little shopping, with perhaps a film for good measure. Au Contraire.
The afternoon started promisingly enough with a good lunch at the new John Lewis. Followed by a tour round the new shopping arcade. Now, it took me near enough an hour to coax my mother out of John Lewis (which is IN the Grand Arcade) and convince her that there where OTHER SHOPS that MIGHT be AS GOOD as John Lewis. Dammit if she didn't spend until 5pm buying two IDENTICAL brown tops and skirts at different stores. Now, I have no problem with her buying clothes, not at all. The problem comes when I am forced to sit IN THE CUBICAL WITH HER in all the shops. Especially as I had wanted a little time to buy some shoes, and get some stuff for my holiday next week.
So after sitting like a lemon telling her that yes, the brown skirt DID go with the brown top, and yes, the brown jacket DID go with the brown skirt and the brown blouse, I had to carry five bags for her up five flights of stairs in the car park, because she didn't want to use the lift. Apparently she wants to lose weight. Moving on...
I was stupid enough to order a tape recorder from a company on Ebay. THREE WEEKS AGO. I have since had to do battle with their couriers four times. It was a simple enough instruction. Please deliver next door at the bed and breakfast if I am not in. Well, they tried to deliver to me when I was not in, so they left a card. I rang them today, to find that they had returned the item to the sender, at their request, on Saturday.
So I emailed the sender. Again. The first time I emailed, saying I was having problems, I got no response. So I emailed them to ask why they had asked for the item to be returned. They said they didn't. So at the moment, they have my money, and they will shortly have their item back which I have never even seen.
Given that I NEED this tape recorder by the 10th of June, because I am flying on the 11th to Bergen to interview a band, this is a bit of a problem. So I have ordered ANOTHER one from Kelkoo, and asked for my money back from the Ebayer. I also left negative feedback for them, saying they were the worst Ebay company I had ever dealt with.
Now, admittedly, the company at fault here is the courier, not the ebayer. However, if you use a courier company instead of Royal Mail and they screw up, you have to take responsibility, right? I have never, ever had this problem with any other ebayer. Never.
So, this was the Ebayer's response to my feedback:
"We have just seen your quite undeserved feedback. Quite frankly we are disgusted with your feedback. We have reported to eBay account manager so we can have your account suspended and shut down as you contact us today and before we can find out clearly what is going on you leave a pathetic remark, once i have found out what the courier is doing i will be back in touch, i expect they have tried to deliver the item and due to you constantly now being there, have decided to return the item to us. I will need to find out if they have been contacted to re arrange delivery by yourself, and if they have not and you are making false claims, like your feedback, we will not be refunding postage and will be taking the necessary legal steps to recoup losses caused by false feedback and for the time we have wasted on this transaction."
Nice to know they are a professional company.
I wanted to re-charge my digital camera? Seem to have lost the recharger, it is nowhere to be found. However, I DID find my mobile phone recharger, and recharged the battery no problem. Shame the mobile phone doesn't work.
