| It's Just Pain |
I’ve read so many blogs (here in THOUGHTS) about how men take women for granted, how some men leave their ladies etc., but this post is the complete opposite.
Ever since I became old enough to court a lady, I always end up on the short end of the stick. I’ve tried numerous times to have a serious relationship but I always fail to succeed.
Let me start from the beginning.
In my first year in high school, I got smitten by this lady (who was a transferee). It was almost love at first sight. But shy as I was, I ended up writing letters instead of approaching her or talking to her. My lady friends tried to encourage me by telling me that ladies liked receiving letters (up to this day I’m not sure). One day, I’ve gathered enough courage to approach her. I was able to, and I tried to strike a conversation. It went like this:
Me: “ heya, how are…”
She: “ Can’t we just be friends?”
Shit.
Maybe you can imagine what I felt?
I was crushed.
But believe it or not, I tried again and again. Three years more to be exact. And in all those years, it went exactly the same. Crushed, crushed, crushed. She then told me that her parents wouldn’t approve of any boyfriends. I said “okay I understand”. Next thing I knew, she had a boyfriend weeks after,
Yeah, ouch.
But here’s more!
I was able to graduate and move on to college. I met this girl (who coincidentally was also a transferee). We hit it off quickly and we became an item. Or so I thought.
We were alright at the start, almost inseparable. So I thought I’ll make it formal and propose.
I did.
But she didn’t accept.
It went:
Me: “I really like you and…”
She: “Sorry but I’m not ready yet… Maybe we should just be friends..?”
Again, ouch.
I was crushed again.
Now, I’m out of college. I had to stop studying and had to work because of the economy. And luckily, I have a real cool job with competitive pay. Plus, there’s one lady who caught my eye (again). BUT as I tried finding more about her, I found out that she still had a man!
Crap right? Just my luck.
I kept on chasing and NOTHING is all I found…
“I tried to call up God’s name,
then he said ‘all you do is complain,
It’s just pain,
And it’s a part of the game.”
“I tried to call up God and complain
But he said ‘Why are you calling my name
It’s just pain
And it’s a part of the game’”
