Chill out dude! IMHO, I would move with the adviser. Sounded like he's well respected in his field to get an endowed chair position. When its all said and done, its your productivity and the lab's reputation more than the institution that counts the most. Any event, you're not doing so bad...

Hey I hear you. The company I work for was acquired by another and then merged with a third early last month. They announced my "re-assignment" (demotion) at the year end meeting and I began the new year at the new position working for someone I brought into the company. It sucks but I cannot...

Good for u. It is so nice to have bosses like that instead of the back stabber that claims all the credit and move up by pushing you down. I am so envious!

Man, you really need to chill. I can just see that you're the type that if your people ask you how to do things and get your approval each time, its wrong, but if they don't they are in trouble too. So many of your type!
