Wow We had a lot of fun..On November 12th 2007 We decided to go hiking. Our original destionation was Cibeque Creek. Yea never found that. LOL But we did find some other cool Stuff. As we were driving we found the Salt River Canyon. BEAUTIFUL. The frist time we stopped there We only went to the landing and took pictures.
Then we continued to try to find Cibeque Creek. And finding out you can not get back to the waterfall there without an Apache. Well were I live we have tonto passes for the lake so I thought that an Apache was kinda like that. Not thinking I asked my daughter if she could buy one there. So She went on to tell me "NO Mom you can not buy an Apache." Well obviously confused I asked where we could buy one. Now My my Daughter is Laughing at me pretty Hard. She Says"Mom you can NOT buy an Apache, It's a person. And I am pretty sure they do not stock them in any store." Feeling completely Blonde buy this point we contiuned to try and find a way up there cause we thought they were being Well...Secretive. So we drove around the whole area. But unfortunetly we never found the spot we were looking for.
So we decided to find some where else. Took a turn and just kept driving. Let me tell you that van gets GREAT gas mileage. We headed to White River and well saw a sign that said Fort Apache. Hmmmm sounds like a good idea. We were all getting hungry anyways. So off we went, I found the museum area and we parked, ate our lunch and even though everything was closed we decided to hike down to the creek after checking out the Tee Pee's they had at the top. I have never really hiked anywhere before but I had a blast. There was a bit of a hard time breathing on the way back up, but still fun none the less. You know us big ppl have issues with that kind of stuff. But anyways we made it to the bottom and saw some cool sites.
So now none of use are quite ready to go right home. We decided to go back to Salt River Canyon and hike down to the water this time. We got back there as it was on our way home and ofcourse Nature decided to call about half of our party. When you drive around for hours on end eventually a bathroom will be needed. Everyone did there thing and we were off again. Down to the water to get some great shots. Now Rob waited all day for someone to fall in the water everywhere we went. And you have to remember that for the end. So down to the river we go and it was a bit easier this time than at Fort Apache. The water had to be like 47 degrees or lower. And I found some rocks that I was sure I could get across so I could get a picture from out in the water without getting wet LOL. Ofcourse Rob was there and ready with the camera should I fall in. BUT I made it across just fine. So proud of my self I will post that picture even though I do not like it very much. So to bring this trip to an end, Everyone went across and got pictures taken even my 6 yr old. Now Rob turns into a 14 year old boy with all kinds of determination. ANd he sees these 2 large rocks upstream. "I think I see a spot that I can jump over there let's go." He says. So we head over there and getting there I realize this is a bad idea, but you know there is no talking to a man full of Testosterone. So I turn on the video Camera on my sony. It was great. we lost the light so it is dark But I got it all on tape. He runs.......He Jumps......He lands...In the water LOL It was so great. Of all the people that could have fallen it was Rob in the end. I won't tell you how he ended up riding the next 30 to 45 mins back home. But you can imagine.
I am Going to post pictures of the trip. I hope you enjoy them and be sure to tell me what you think
