 Summer Morning Meditation
I have been meditating every morning this week on the front deck.  Fortunately, during summer, it is warm enough so that I can do this.  Or, more accurately, I've been doing a mixture of postures held for a long time, bastrika pranayama, uddiyana bandha, nauli and sitting still in a seated posture.  My usual practice has been to hold legs up the wall for about 10 to 15 minutes, and then some standing postures (trikonasana, prasarita paddotanasana) for a long time, a supported hip opening posture (happy baby pose), and a long held paschimottanasana.  Finally, I sit, usually in virasana, and just sit back and watch the operations of the energy in my mind, the birds chirping, the creaking of the house.  I can't describe with sufficient articulation the peacefulness and steadiness of mind that I have derived from this practice.
