What a busy weekend this was! We had a home football game on Saturday at the restaurant and yoga presentation and teacher meeting on Sunday! Amazingly, I still feel refreshed today as I sit at my desk at work. Perhaps the daylight savings's extra hour imparted a bit of energy?
Sunday's primary series was nice. A lot of awareness was developed in my foot area. In utthita hasta padangustasana, my driste is really starting to form around the foot (now that my foot is consistently at eye level). It was interesting to focus on the spreading of the feet, it activated so much energy, and yet was quite a challenge to my balance. In fact, so much attention placed on my foot has made me aware of how important it is to be aware of foot placement. Another example of this is that in virabadrasaha B, I felt my inner arch of my right foot raise and my something released/opened in my hip (I think it was piriformis. It was a -wonderful- feeling, and, interestingly, all of the nagging knee pain recently has disappeared. It's funny how that stuff comes and goes
In the afternoon, I attended a workshop by a delightful man named Graham Schweig. He gave a talk about his translation of the Bhagavad Gita. I had read some of this book before, but did not find it very accessible. After his presentation, however, I felt I had a good basis of knowledge upon which to read the Bhagavad Gita. I purchased a copy of his book. I look forward to other presentations he may have at ACAC in the future.
I also attended a yoga teacher meeting. It was a bit too long for my taste, but it was interesting to see most of the teachers in assembly as well as meet new ones. It is very interesting to be in the company of teachers I have taken class with, some even dating back 4 or 5 years. Lots of history. And hopefully much more to be created!
