Critique
Annie Get Your Gun
this critique is on Micheal Hopper who played Chief Sitting Bull in the production of Annie Get Your Gun on Friday May 30, 2008. Annie Get Your Gun was written by Irving Berlin.
Micheal Hoppers goal threw out the play was to help his adoped daughter annie. and to show up the white men a little.
his obsticals where the fact that he was an indan but he didnt seem to care about that.
his phical choices were to walk proberly and stiff. he was a very tince characture but thats how some people picture the indian chief so it worked. he also always had his arms crossed and a frown on his face. and when he walked he lightly pounded his feet into the ground.
his voice choices where montone and forcheful since the charactures doesnt normaly speak english.
Micheal Hopper played the part of Chief Sitting Bull it worked for him because he really pulled it off. he never broke characture. and he was darker skined so that helped to i think.
i felt the performance was a success in many ways because he really made it believeable. he lived in the moment, and he had some kind of mistory about him like he was studing everything that was going on around him. and didnt speak unless he had to. kind of like he didnt really like the white men and really didnt have a problem with them at the sametime.
