Things aren't any better. I just found out my cousin, 18 mind you, has done keg stands and has taken a fancy to alcohol. For an hour at the dinner table, I felt so excluded. It is like they refuse to go on any topics I feel comfortable with. I went to the bathroom twice for ten minutes or so, evading the uncomfortable conversation of booze. I know that I too have changed, but she is not the GiGi I knew in Oklahoma. She is not the girl of which I proudly called my big sis, though she was only a second cousin. I feel so alone. I am going to go read Inkheart, by Cornlelia Funke, hoping to be lost from reality within its fanciful pages. That is why I prefer ironic, absurd, or fantasy/mythical stories, so I could be lost in a different world where such wouldn't happen like that here. There, there are creatures of interest, not stray cats with not meat on their bones or squirrels on the fence nibbling and preening their paws. The most excitement or joy here, where I am, is when there is a lightening storm or I am immersed into either the computer or my books. If you wish to escape the cruel reality of this world, you ought to read. I may seem boring, but pour yourself into and you, too, will see that books can bring about a new life, one actually enjoyable. Well, farewell for now and remember, books are closed doors to a new world. All you have to do is pull back the cover and read.

I probably would have done the same thing as you did. I'm sorry it didn't work out too well for you. Good luck next time!!
