| Wedding Reception Clothes for everyday wear?

Well it’s Saturday. Yep. Sure is. Saturday morning to be exact. Goodness I’m just full of useful information today. Lol
I quit shopping a little over a year ago. For myself and others. I used to keep up with trends. Not to fit in, but to feel cute, sexy, beautiful. Then when I went flat broke…I was forced not to be able to purchase things like I once had. At first I found it very hard and confusing to even walk into a store and leave with nothing. So I had to do what I thought I’d never have to do.
Stay away from department stores and malls. Within a few months I was feeling wonderful about being broke. Well, okay, not wonderful but there was something that felt right about not having to find scissors all the time to cut off tags, then decide whether or not to keep the bag and receipt.
So all and all things have been fine with me not buying new clothes, earings, shoes, ect…
Up until this past week that is.
My confidence is pretty good, most of the time. I don’t feel like I need to always be dressed up to look nice.
As a matter of fact a co-worker was driving by in his shiny beautiful new get up and stopped beside my car as I was pulling out of the driveway. He laughed and said, “move that piece of shit out of my way.”
I laughed with him knowing my car isn’t all that PRETTY or NEW like his.
I replied with laughter saying, “I don’t need to spend that much money each month on a car to look that good!”
Okay, my point here is…
I go to pick my daughter up from school and it seems to me when I arrive there is some kind of school function going on by the way the parents are dressed when getting out of their car. So I sit for a moment and think hmmm? Did I miss a memo? Am I supposed to be wearing something a little more school function appropriate?
I can only sit there so long, I must get out and get my daughter.
I take a deep breath and realize as I’m walking in, these parents just dress this way. Out of eight women only 1 wasn’t wearing heels.
Ahh, yes, that one was me.
Not only that, but I was wearing jeans.
The other seven ladies were wearing nice dress pants.
Not to mention their flashy earings and designer bags. And there I was holding onto my keys. Like “oh yeah, you see these keys right here? They came straight from the dealership. Brand new, like seven years ago”
Lol..Im a nut.
But at least I’m comfortable right?
Well, no, at that moment I was far from being comfortable.
Surrounded by those moms made me want to go straight home and never leave again.
I don’t want to get dressed up to go somewhere so why can’t they be like me and feel the same way? Lol
Damn society.
I mean my self confidence will only take me so far.
And when did jeans go out of style?
Hello?…. They are my favorite clothing item besides my bathing suite!
I suppose I’ll go in the closet and start getting my “church clothes, funeral wear, and wedding reception” attire ready to begin to wear Monday through Friday.
I’m going to try it, but I know I won’t like it.
No I’m not…screw that, I’m wearing my jeans cause I rock out in them. I don’t care if I’m too old for that look, I’m pulling it off somehow someway!
And as far as jewelry, I’ll let my eyes be the focus of my clothing attire. I’ll train them to sparkle with each move I make. And most importantly my eyes are free.

Will you marry me? lol just kidding I know your married... but I totally agree with what you are saying... I get alot of guff all the time for my old yucky truck that I drive to work... but to me... if it gets a ding I am not mad... it gets great gass milage.. and it is comfortable to me... the seat fits me like a glove. I have a much nicer vehicle but I usually drive my old beater because of gas unless I am goin on a trip or going on a date or what ever.
On a side note allthough you were casual and you were comfortable... think about it... some of these ladies never get out or probably get to do anything... and this school function might just be the closest thing to a social even they get... it does not make it right or wrong... but that might be why they drive the new car and have on the new out fit... to hide how miserable they are... to make people think they are happy... this is just an observation.
Stay just the way you... and I love your eyes comment... I love to look at a woman and see their eyes sparkle... to see they have a light inside them that makes them smile...

Ok, Not hitting on you! (My wife may be looking! LOL) JK, but I have to say that from the picture I first seen in your profile to the picture posted above, you are hands down an extremely beautiful woman...
Nice cloths? Yeah sometimes, but, jeans, T-shirt, ball cap, and a beer, you could never look more beautiful!
My wife is one one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen, but I can not stand when she puts makeup on, and dresses up! Natural beauty is (BEAUTY!)

I think eyes have it.
I think jeans are great, I can't understand people who dress up for all moments of the day. It takes away from when you get to go somewhere and actually dress up.
I'm with you. Jeans! Old car! forget the material things in life, they wear out!

It annoys me to see those figged out women who consider themselves the hub of the universe...
You're very pretty on the picture!
