Blog 4 My Identities From My Mother
As what I have mentioned in my previous blog, I gain most of my identities from my family. My parents are the best two role models in my life. I have inherited the identities of caring and compassionate from my mother.

My mother is a very caring person. Her heart is filled with loves and she's always willing to distribute her loves to other people. In family, she is not like most of mothers who take care of their kids and work at the same time. My mother quitted her job when I was in elementary school in order to provide me the best study and living conditions. As a result, everything that I need was always ready. Also, my mother would always help her friends or relatives as much as she could whenever they needed. For example, if one of her friends or relatives is sick, she will take them to see doctor and help them to do their housework. My mother had devoted much time on caring the others, but very little on herself.

My mother had demostrated a good role model as I grew up. She had inspired me internally by giving me abundant loves so that I could pass them to the people around me. Eventually, I became caring and compassionate too. For example, I will become very upset if my friend is depressed. Although I am not a good humorist who has all kinds of jokes in his brain, I am a patient listener. I will stay beside my friends and listen to their worries and unfortunateness whenever they needed. Also, I always make wishes. I wish my parents, friends and relatives will be all good and healthy.

Because of this aspect of my identity, I didn't struggle too much on deciding my career. I have a great passion of caring and helping people. Therefore, I want to be a nurse. Even though being a male nurse doesn't fit the gender role, I really want to devote my life to people who need my help.

You make me feel so guilty! lol. I was going to pursue nursing as my major because I, too, am a caring and compassionate person who likes to help other people. As A took my first science course at city college, i realized that maybe my sister was right; I'm not a science person. All my life, i have grew up to be better at English and literature. Now instead of becoming a nurse, I have decided to chase after the money. I think I want a job where I can help improve people's lives and make good money for it. Question is, what job opportunities fit that description of my idealistic job? Congratulations for finding your life's calling of becoming a nurse. I wish you luck! I hope my calling will come soon.

Good job on inheriting the goods from your parents.
I will suggest you that not to be too compassionate on helping others. I dont mean that helping others is a bad thing, but because of that, some people might try to get advantages from you.

To Hunnyloveee:
In my opinion, you can try to be an English teacher. That way you can fulfill your caring and compassionate identities by helping your students. By educating the next generation, you can influent their thoughts and they will make the world better in the future. Moreover, if you teach in University, you can make good money. Last and the most important, you grew up with English and literature talent. So I am sure you will be good at teaching it and enjoy teaching it.

Very well put wolfy, I think being caring and compassionate are excellent traits to inherit and they will help you out in many ways. Like everything in this world there maybe some downsides to those traits, but who cares what others may say or do. Being happy is all that really matters because the naysayers do not pay your bills or get you through college and on to your dreams. I think those traits that were passed onto you should also be passed to someone else, because that person may just become some famous humanitarian or do something extraordinary with those traits. Something like becoming a doctor, a nurse, a couselor and will help out people when they need it most. I like to call those helpers blessings because if these people were not in their proffesion this world would be alot worse than it is currently.

I have always thought that our parents become our first teachers. After reading what you read i can safely say that you were educated well early on in life. In addition nursing is a great career, and im happy to know you are joining that force. There can NEVER be too many nurses, no matter what any government official may say. Also i am happy to know you enjoy what you do, because that is key to anyones happiness.

It seems to me that you value the love that your mother gave to when you were young and that your mother has been a very important person in your life. I think that this a very good thing.

I can really relate to this. After reading this it reminded me of how my parents influence me as well and i also think my mom's caring characteristic rubbed off on me. I think everyone always gets a little piece of their parent inside them and it seems to almost prepare you for your future.

You are so lucky to have such a carrying and compassionate mother. Moreover, the fact that you recognize how great of a person she is and how much effort she goes into helping you to stray in the right direction just goes to show that you are a really good person as well. There are a lot of people who come from good families but don't recognize that their family is doing their best to help them with all aspects of their life. I really like to see families like this because it makes me feel warm inside.

you are very fortunate to have such a wonderful mother, who provides so much for others. She is far from selfish and contributes to her family and friends without questioning. You too have gained those traits and that is why when you become a nurse you are going to be great, and no one will mention anything about the gender role because you will over power that with your kind heart
