The last days of the trip in Mississippi were rather wet...Between the humidity and the rain I was in a state of perpetual wetness...Like I was swimming across the rivers rather then taking a bridge...I got shut down in a motel room in Maniston for 2 nights because of rain...Lots of it....But once I got back on it, MS went fast! The two biggest days of the trip happened in the 4 days it took me to go from Maniston to Slidell...I did a 111 mile day and two days later I did a 112 mile day...What can I say, it got flat...
I landed at a friends house in Slidell about 11:30 on the morning of the 20th...Ryan's place, the same house I started from many – 8 -- months ago...I've been here for two nights now and apparently, Ryan has been telling everyone of my accomplishment...for a while...I do seem to be a headline here for the moment...
But I got to give a big shout out to those who have helped to make this trip and blog possible! Dad and mom, your support has been unrivaled, thank you....Ryan, Sherri and the crew in Slidell, you rock! Thanks bunches, it couldn't have been done with out your place and hospitality...Brent! You are and always will be the Wizard of odd, and I am still carrying that empty glass bottle trying to figure out how to get it refilled with your home made wine!
I will be posting off and on through the decompression process...but after 8 months, 25 states and 10,596, I have my book! It's time to begin reentering society...Have a good ride!
