My previous post talked about what a great day I had on Ficlets, posting 14 stories in a span of 12 hours.
I topped that just the other day.
In just under 10 hours, I posted a 29-part series on Ficlets that, I think, is my best work on there, yet. Actually, for all the stories I've written over my life, I think it's my best work to date, period.
You can check it out. It starts here: ficlets.com/stories/24926
What really got me about that series is this:
I've mentioned before in my blog about NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writer's Month). For those who don't know, it's a competition held every November. The challenge is to write a 50,000 word novel, and you have one month to do it. Now, 50,000 words during the month of November breaks down to roughly 1,612 words per day. In this marathon series I wrote on Ficlets, I wrote 5,250 words in 10 hours. So, the challenge for my, then, is not 'can I write 1,612 words a day?' It's 'can I maintin that pace over a month?'
I think I can. But we'll have to wait until November to find out. |
