| Accepting the Unacceptable Folks
On more occasions than I care to recall, I have forced myself into the mold of the ordinary. I tucked, snipped, poked and tucked (metaphorically) myself into personas that I never desired but were deemed more acceptable.
Many have early childhood memories of wanting to be a doctor, a lawyer or a fireman, but I always wanted to be the best version of my older self whom which helped others to be the same (...which led me to studying Psycholgy and reading a lot of self help books).
I wanted to be accepted by the popular crowds, so I wouldn't be picked on, while silently envying the "unacceptable folk".
Now, I wear a face that was onced masked with each seasons new look. A face that I'd prefer anyday. I dance when music moves me, even if it's in the supermarket or the elevator. And, that brings me peace.
I have the Harry Potter lovers and the Thesbians from my high school to thank for the inspiration.
