I am soooooooooo glad that the weekend is over, though I wish I had played hooky from work today. This weekend I got sunburned pretty darn bad, I'll post a picture. We went to the beach Saturday. It was Katie (my twin) her 3 kids, her husband and Brian, Hailey and I. Had a great time... I even slathered myself with sunblock and still managed to get nice and toasted. Great... just more freckles and a chance of skin cancer... way to go me! So today I've been reduced to wearing a sports bra because I can't handle the tightness of a reg underwire bra touching me. Since I'm so chesty (almost a F cup) the weight of the breasts will actually cause too much tension on the shoulder straps and I can't deal with that. So I'm wearing a sports bra and it really doesn't do ANYTHING for my figure. I'm walking around with a uni-boob, but at least it doesn't hurt as bad.
After the beach, the whole group met back up at my house where we had a fish fry and watched movies. My sisters kids effectively and effeciently tore my daughters room up AGAIN.. so it's going to be a real chore to get that room clean again.
We watched "Stop Loss", fantastic movie. I cried through a lot of that movie, not only because some scenes were so hard to see but because I know that it must really be like that in Iraq. That's a life that I just can't imagine. Thank God there are fearless men and women who fight for our country so that I can sit here in my cushy little office blogging about my sunburn. Before I had Hailey I used to think about going into the reserves but I never did it... now that I have Hailey and after watching that movie, I don't know if that's something I could do. I don't have it in me to be that kind of a hero.
Yesterday we went to a pool party, I stayed in the shade, I did NOT want anymore sun. DH had Hailey in the pool with him and there was a moment where he took his eyes off of her and she went under the water. I don't know how long she was under but Brian freaked and snatched her up - he was more scared than she was, but I think it's convinced him that when we move we don't need a house with a pool UNTIL Hailey can swim. Hailey is OK... she got back in the water soon after that happened so thankfully it didn't cause her to be afraid of the water - just more cautious now. You can never be too careful with kids around water.
This morning was AWESOME! Normally getting Hailey dressed to go to daycare is a chore that I dread. She hates being woken up and will cry, run and do whatever she has to do to NOT do what I need her to do. This morning it was smooth sailing. I got her dressed, painted her finger nails, fixed her hair, brushed her teeth AND *drum roll please*, she told me she had to go potty and she did! My little girl went tee-tee on the potty with out me pushing her to do it! YES YES YES! She got 2 extra special "POTTY" stickers! I told her that she is only allowed those stickers when we go potty... and they are all princess stickers. Hopefully this is a start to an upward trend of her going to the bathroom like a big girl. As I type this I'm grinning like a bucked-toothed jack ass.
Today is the funeral for my co-workers 3 mo old grand daughter and DIL. I'll be going there at
Well the boss just walked in, time for me to get some work done.... SIKE, well she is here but I dont think I'm going to get any work done. Priorities people, Priorities!
