I wish I had better advice for you. The only thing I can say is to keep working the time outs. Desiginate a naughty spot and that's where she goes when she acts up. Let her know that's where she goes when she's naughty. Don't talk to her when she's acting that way, just put her there. If she walks out... without saying anything to her, pick her up and put her back on the spot. One of my friends when she feels like she's going to yell she whispers... it makes her child stop fussing and listen because she can't hear what her mother is saying. Not only that but it will help you keep your cool. Next time your daughter makes a mess with her milk - have her help you clean it up.

Posted in Where are the parents? on 2007-10-31 11:06:28
I agree to an extent. We don't know what the situation is with the kid who started the California fires - I'd rather not assume anything about the parents until it comes out what they were doing at the time. As far as parent's not taking control of their kids... you are so on the mark it's not even funny. Kids tend to tell the parents these day's what they will and won't do. I look at the kids in the stores with their parents and the parents just let the kids do whatever while they stand there with the "What am I supposed to do" look on their face. BE A PARENT!

What's worse is... they have children THONGS! I WOULD NEVER EVER buy Hailey a thong.. you have got to be kidding me! It's so sad but there are so few wholesome kids in the lime light that I would want my daughter to view as someone to look up to. So it's up to me. I will be the role model for my daughter. Maybe if more people were like that - there would be fewer and fewer little girls booty shaking, wearin thongs and mid drift clothes.

I don't understand. You're a gorgeous girl... that's it though, you're a girl. Honey with maturity comes curves and you should embrace your curves - men will when you do. This line that you wrote, I want you to really think about it..."So i figure before Winter i'll be underweight and i'll have a boyfriend who actually likes me for me and not who i pretend to be." Don't you see, you're changing yourself - you're not being YOU by starving yourself, or becoming bulemic. BE YOU. LOVE YOU.

Posted in In response to "underweight" on 2007-10-30 13:53:53
That's disgusting! One of the women I work with (the lady next to me who's always eating) her daughter is 12 and weighs about 150 (overweight for her height and age) anyway... she recently twisted her ankle jumping on a trampoline. One of the "teachers" (I use the term lightly) asked her how she hurt her foot. She told them about how she was jumping and landed wrong... in front of the entire class he said, "Don't lie, you hurt it chasing the ice cream truck." What kind of people do we have teaching our kids or even watching over our kids to grant them the need to say that? It's disgusting!!

Posted in UnderWeight...the next top Fashion??? on 2007-10-30 13:48:45
I think it's because of fashion magazines, movies...etc. You seldom see models who have a little weight to lose, in movies the leading actress or actor have little to no body fat. It's a sad world where we live in.

I think my dad would be seriously offended if I were to talk to Mike. Though I mean would you think my dad is giving hints because he'll talk about him and Mike going on these long vacations. He told us all once he (my dad) was lying in his hammock drinking his martini and Mike came out of the trailer they rented and there was a snake. My dad said that Mike started to scream because it was right under my dads hammock. I asked my dad if Mike went for help... my dad said, No he was just in his towel. But later on I heard him tell the story to my sister and he said that Mike was in the hammock and my dad was cooking in the kitchen when he heard Mike yell. I definitely don't think my dad is ready to be "outted", so to speak.

To see a fire that's contained (by a lighter) could mean passion for that person. You hold a flame for them, kinda cliche. To see someone have seizures could mean that you're surrounded by people who lack control of their lives. With you running from them you're trying to distance yourself from problems. Red is an indication of raw energy, force, vigor, intense passion, aggression, power, courage and passion. The color red has deep emotional and spiritual connotations. Water has a lot of meanings to it - you might have to dig deep into your memory bank to see if any of these fit with your dream. To see water in your dream, symbolizes your unconscious and your emotional state of mind. Water is the living essence of the psyche and the flow of life energy. It is also symbolic of spirituality, knowledge, healing and refreshment. If the water is calm, clear, then it signifies that you are in tune with your spirituality. It denotes serenity, peace of mind, and rejuvenation. If you are splashed by water, then it represents your need to be revitalized and more expressive. To dream that water is boiling, suggests that you are expressing some emotional turmoil. It also may mean that feelings from your unconscious are surfacing and ready to be acknowledged.? To see muddy or dirty water in your dream, indicates that you are wallowing in your negative emotions. You may need to devote some time to clarify your mind and find internal peace. Alternatively, it suggests that your thinking/judgment is unclear and clouded. If you are immersed in muddy water, then it indicates that you are in over your head in a situation and are overwhelmed by your emotions. To hear running water in your dream, denotes meditation, reflection and pondering of your thoughts and emotions. To dream that you are walking on water, suggests that you have supreme and ultimate control over your emotions. It may also suggest that you need to "stay on top" of your emotions and not let them explode out of hand. Alternatively, it is symbolic of faith in yourself. Blood - To see blood in your dream, represents life, love, and passion as well as disappointments.

Does your church have a singles group? If so I'd say join that - if nothing else you can see that there are quality men out there with the same beliefs spiritually as you do.

I'm a big believer in dreams. Do you remember what the water looked like? Do you have any memories of colors? I'd love to try and analyze your dream for you.

I loved this blog. My twin sister is as foul mouthed as they come. I tolerate it, I don't correct her until she cusses in front of my 2 year old daughter. I believe a lot of your blog is correct, people who are foul mouthed do have a lot of pain in their past. It's a shame, but sadly I think it's the truth. Good blogging :)

OH my gosh this is by far one of the best blogs I've ever read! Seriously - you are so right! It's hard for us chubsters. I'm what you'd call "curvy"... I'm sure people call me fat behind my back, who knows? It's amazing at how society has us thinking that being who we are is bad or not good enough. I'll tell you what though - we're just as good as the rest of them, if not better!!

I think sometimes we want to understand what someone else is going through, they are empathedic and caring - but you're right, no one can truely understand. You may feel that you're worse off than they are - and you may be right. 9 out of 10 times though, you don't get the whole story.

I think Halloween is what you make of it. It can be made into something gross or something fun. My church does a 'Trick by Trunk', instead of the kids going door to door - there's a gathering at the church where everyone parks and the kids run around safely gathering candy from other people's trunks. It's supervised and a lot of fun. They have pumpkin carvings -etc. Typically I was content with staying at home and passing out candy - but it really ruined it for me when I started seeing young adults coming up knocking on the door, without costume and they just hold their bag open. I can understand small kids who aren't in costume, maybe their parents didn't have the money for one, so I typically load them down with extra candy. It's the "BIG KIDS" that drive me crazy. I'm sorry that you're going through the Halloween Grumps.

I can't even imagine what that must be like. It amazes me and saddens me to think of the people who were given the gift of a child and they don't love and cherish them. I hate that Emma doesn't feel loved and misses her mother - hopefully with you in her life she'll know someone cares for her.

Posted in they are just kids..... on 2007-10-25 08:24:34
I think there comes a time when we have to stop talking to our children like they are children. You stated I think that your kids are teenagers, talk to them like they are adults. Help them understand even if you don't. I'd tell them that it's not that their father doesn't love them because he does, he just isn't sure of anything else. I don't know if thats good advice or not, I don't know what I would do in your shoes. I'm sorry you have to go through all this.

Love is sticking by someone when you know it could hurt you in the end, but you're willing to go through the pain for that person. Love is knowing you'd give your life for them. Love is when you can't imagine your life without them. Love is all consuming.

You asked if we could have stopped it... lets say we were on the presidents cabinet committee and we knew something that opposed him, he'd fire us quick fast and in a hurry. All of this could have been prevented if the stories from the CIA about a tip off of the WTC were taken seriously.

You're welcome. I wonder if the saying, "When God closes a door, He opens a window". Perhaps we are so concerned with that closed door that we fail to even notice the window open, with life being lived outside of it. We don't notice the wind, the smell of the flowers - I mean how could we, when we never look away from that closed door. I'm glad in a way that Natalie let you know in a round about way what is going on... maybe now you can feel the breeze from the window.

Hmm that's weird. I go through moments where I don't want sex either - when it gets to that point I sometimes HAVE to make myself have sex, and when I do it more often than not I get into it and I enjoy it. I hope that your husband understands where you're coming from and tries alittle harder with you.

Posted in Beginning of the end on 2007-10-24 11:36:12
Its so funny that when we start to put the final nail in the coffin the person we're burying (relationship wise) realizes this and raises their eyes to us and we fall back into their web.

Posted in This is where it ends on 2007-10-24 11:33:26
This entry brought tears to my eyes. I was friends with a guy a few years back and I ended things. He sent me a msg online that said (I saved it). Him: Do me one favor before you shut me completely out of your life? Me: What's that? Him: Give me back my heart Those words stuck with me and still haunt me to this day. My hurting him wasn't intentional, we're friends today and though he goes back to memories he knows that they were just memories. The world is a cruel place, and I've read every entry you've done and I have to say you're one gifted writer - I felt your pain, your desperation, your need for love. My heart is heavy with sorrow that your beloved Natalie cut you out of her life. Saying that time heals is such a cliche, eventually you'll be able to let go or Natalie will wake up and realize what an amazing person she has in you.

No I wasn't saying her husband was bad, I was saying that if she leaves or if you leave your wife that would make you or her the "bad guy", which ever steps out of the relationship. I wouldn't think either of you were the "bad guy" should you both decide to follow your hearts - I just know that it's hard to be the one to break someone elses heart. That's what I meant by using the term "bad guy".

It's tough, no one wants their children to have to have surgery. My thinking is if it has to be now then ok, you will be strong. When you feel like you don't have the strength take a look at Katie, give her a hug and know that her strength stems from you.

Posted in Married life!!! on 2007-10-24 08:39:44
Have you thought about maybe watching a porn with him, or is that totally out of the question? I can sort of see why your husband stopped asking, no one likes to be told no constantly. If you're in the mood, or when you knew he was playing with himself why didn't you help him? I know this isn't the comment you probably wanted to see, either way I hope you get the answers you seek.

Posted in Should she, Shouldn't she on 2007-10-24 08:08:34
I think that if her undergoing the surgery is going to give her a better quality of life then you should do it. I have a 2 year old who was put in the hospital at 5 wks old due to an infection, she was hospitalized for a week. I hope that it doesnt' come down to Katie having to have surgery, but whatever the dr's tell you - do what's best for Katie.
